Now that i have recently test rode a 2010 king quad 750 with eps i would like to hear about the pros and cons vs the yamaha grizzly 700 with eps. what is the power difference, suspension, maintenence and so on. If you had to pick one of these which one would it be and why??

bought a 2009 700 griz last year , bought due to reputation , put 1500 km on it with no issue's , both great machines , yamaha little more reliable imo, you should get lots of input that will show both are great.

hate mine for doubling though

I like the King Couch 750. Has about 4hp more, double overhead cam instead of single, perfect fuel injection, a beautiful tranny with a excellent clutch system. The engine is laid a bit flatter for lower center of gravity, the gauge package is top notch just like the triple headlights. This thing has super light steering and lots of engine braking in low. The suspension is similar to the Grizzler. It starts up right away and will run strong day after day after day. I ride with a group of dirtbikers/sledders and quader's and lots of different machines. The King Couch is a great machine with a strong reliable motor and drivetrain and also, the seat is super comfy and with the ergo's there's a bit more room to manoeuvre, a little bit more open.
Neither is perfect but it has a very good ride quality. I do like both machines, but am picking out little points.

I agree with the two previous posts... the Grizz and the King are both great quads. Very capable, and reliable. I've ridden both, and own a King.

Stock out of the box, the 700 Grizz has more low end grunt than the King, and the King has more top end. Easy to remedy on the King with a shim mod/clutch work. Both have plenty of power.

The Grizz is slightly smaller, and a bit more nimble than the King which is an asset if you ride real tight technical trails. On the other hand, the King is more stable, if you ride in areas that put you at risk.

Power steering on both is excellent.

You can nit-pick either machine, but in the end, it's all preference, and again, both are great bikes.

Both come with crappy stock tires. Personally, I would pick the one you can get the best deal on, and use the money you save to get some new skins ASAP (that's what I did :D ).

My last quad was a brute force 750 injected so when i test drove the king i knew it would not have the power of the v-twin brute. But i must admit i was impressed of the power of the king 750 and how smooth, quiet and easy to ride it was. It is definetly good to test drive them before you make your decision as you might be surprised like i was. The king was a very nice machine and i cant wait to compare it to the grizzly 700 after i ride it.

Yep, you've got a tough decision to make.

For move info on the King Quad, you may want to stop by at "Nyrocatv.com" and check out the King forum... biggest and best King forum on the web. When you go into the King forum, look on the bottom right hand side for the "Tech Tips"... lots of them to help you out.

For more info on the Grizz, it's hard to beat "grizzlycentral.com".

Good luck.

Both are excellent quads as are most japanese machines, dont buy any north american crap build quality and reliability just isnt the same.Yamaha looks more dated than Suzuki around the handlebar, dash, no centre headlight area.I dont like having to put the brake on on the yamaha to select a gear but you will love both quads its just personal preference .

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the King Couch has a internal rear braking system that is Excellent. It doesn't pack with ice and stop working like the Grizzler. I like both machines and My buddy Remi works for Suzuki Canada as a service rep. and told me that the 750's are pretty much a "no issues machine" as far as warranty but the 700's had a slow power drain that could only be fixed by disconnecting the battery if left sitting for long periods. Suzuki makes great 4 strokes. I have 2 different v-twins and they will rev high with good power all day, every day for years...mine have. If you don't get the pwr steering model I'd put in a steering stabilizer. Their gold and transform the ride. W

I have a 07 700 grizz with 3500km on it .Never had it back to the shop except for a CV boot from brush riding.PS is awsome as you are not tired after a full day of quadding.Grizzlys ride very plush and handle well for utility quads,no high speed wobbles or quirks.I like the Kings as well but you'll have to ride both for your personal pref.I don't think you would regret either. How much do they want for a PS King in Kelowna?Brand new 09 Grizzlys PS are around 9K.Maintainance is easy air filter is right by your nuts and takes seconds to get too.oil filter and drain are also easy to get too,Plug is a bit of a reach but doable without removing panels,Diff maint is easy acess as well.4 grease points on the rear suspension.Valve adj is recommended but a total waste of money I have had 2 checked and they are never out, best top end in the buisness

I could get a 2010 King Quad 750 for around $9999. I am really leaning towards the white armour grizzly that they had in 2010, although they are getting more difficult to find as they sell off. I have located a couple in Alberta for $10,800 + gst. that white looks awsome.

That white armor is sweet... for sure! Although, for the difference in price, you can by a lot of "goodies" for the King... like tires, wheels, and some other stuff.

Have fun deciding, and good luck with whichever one you choose. :thumbsup2:

Anybody know of how the white armour is holding up as far as scratches or peeling or fading??

I paid 10,600 for my 07 Camo grizz.from Red Deer Yamaha.I have the full alluminum skid plates, front and rear bumpers and just 26'' mudlites,,,The skids and bumpers are well worth it,,,,,Put a K&N filter on it and a slip on pipe and it makes a amazing difference

I have mine set up very similar.
Unifilter,Ricochete full skids,26"XTR's,Yammy front bumper.I bought 2 of them out of Calgary $10,200 each all in with winchs and hand warmers. You can drive to calgary and back in 1 day for some great savings, warranty is a nonissue with these bikes.PS is a must for either as no more arm wrenching hits when you hit a big rock.I have heard great things about Yamahas painted plastic and its durability, good luck on your search.I'm looking for a low mile used camo grizz myself as i don't like to hunt out of my rhino.Seems all the good deal leftovers are red or green

I picked up a leftover 2009 King Quad 750 (non PS) earlier this year at a local dealership for $8400 CDN. I am very impressed. It hasn't given me one problem. It doesn't have the get up and go that my buddies Brute Force and Can Am's have, but they all have non stop maintenance issues, which I don't need since I already own snowmobiles :)
I put 27" Mud Bugs on it for $400 and a warn winch for about the same. This winter bought a moose plow for around 500 and put on some heated grips.
I put the EPI Yellow secondary spring and 18 gram weights along with the 2mm shim mod and now it is way better on the bottom end.
I would buy another in a second, it goes much better than the grizzlies I've ridden with.

First, that sure is one sweet "car wash girl" you have there! She's a cutie!

Yep, just adding the shims will get the gearing much lower (but will loose some top end). The lighter weights will get the rpm's up there quickly. The only thing those mods don't do on the King is get rid of the low end lag... that requires a VDI, and I think they are too much hassle.

I'm thinking about removing my shim, and having the Coup 3+ mod done. That way I will have the low end, and won't lose any top end. Although, top end really isn't really something I use a lot. Still, I might try it for the heck of it.
