Do anyone have any experience with these Andersen 5th wheel hitches. They are a little different but are light and are rated to tow up to 24,000 lbs. PJ trailers in Leduc are selling them and I'm debating on getting it. Any advise would be appreicated. See link below.

B&W if you use you truck for other jobs including a camper it just simpler to work with. However I sold a stock trailer to a lady that hadn't used hers for a "few years" and it took me over a hour to get the dame thing changed over. She lived in Rocky and did a lot of gravel/mud and not to much washing either. Never had a problem with mine but I change it around lots.

Love my b&w. Havent pulled my ball in awhile tho pretty sure its welded in. Have an adapter on my 5th wheel to ball. But have been looking at getting the companion so I can pull the quads behind the 5th. Have read some good reviews and poor ones.

Bringing up an old thread...... We might be getting a 5th wheel holiday trailer and would need a hitch. So would like to ask a couple of questions, as I don't know much about this.
1. Who is B&W and where can they be found?
2. What are your thoughts on used and what to look for?
3. Would you pay to install it, or just do it yourself? I have access to a shop and lift and have an idea of what I'm doing

Its going to go in my 05 F350, and not going to be used a lot. Kind of why I'm thinking of going used.....

If you can find a used B&W hitch, that is the name of the company that makes them, that would be the way to go especially if you you can find a gooseneck ball mount one. That way you would only have to mount a goose neck hitch in the truck.

I have a "puck mount" B&W Companion. Best hitch i have ever owned by far and i loved my Reese 25K Elite before. My Dad has the gooseneck ball mount B&W Companion and if i could go back i would go with that option rather than the pucks. Both share the same head just a different base.

We were down in Waterton recently and a fellow had an Anderson in the back of his truck. He loved it. Easy to move in and out of the box unlike most of the others which are not light. Looks to me like it is the best of both worlds as it is effectivly a ball hitch that is raised up so you can see how close you are to it rather than is being out of sight on the bottom of his box. If I had to reload I would certainly go that way.

Supposed to be less expensive as well.

my personal opinion Doug, unless you know where the used one came from and how it was treated, I would be nervous about buying one. Never know what could be cracked or malfunctioning, and you really don't want to drop your fifth wheel due to a faulty hitch.

Ive had the auto slider and now the B&w comp manual slider.... the auto is great until you try to unhook at greater then 30 degrees... hence why I have a B&w now

I don't have a 5th wheel but I have the mounts in my truck. They run across the box and I hate them! Can't sweep dirt out of the box or even wash it out. And sliding stuff in and out sucks to. Get the ones that have the mounts running length ways.

Ps if anyone wants free mounts you can have mine just you have to unbolt them

I like my Curtis hitch. I knew I would be going off road and into ditches etc so I got a hitch that will pivot 360 degrees not just back and forward or the dual pivot. A lot easier on the truck and trailer. I only have to move it twice each year. Take it out in the fall and reinstall in the spring. It comes apart in two pieces so it is easier and lighter to do so. I think with the rails and all in I paid 1300.
