how much work is it to jet a 2002 mountain cat 570? if i am headed to sliver star area in vernon over xmas to go sledding just want to know if i have to jet and if so how do go about it always have had efi before never had to worry

I've never messed with the carbs but their fairly easy to access on that chassis so it shouldn't be too bad. I used a 570 as a spare sled in tumbler Ridge last year and I hope your OK with following tracks cause you probably won't be able to make many of your own. Maybe jetting would help but I can't say for sure.

What I would do is check what main and pilot jets are in it now. I would then go to a dealer or on-line and find out what jets should be in it for that elevation and put them in if the ones in it now are wrong. I would put the clip on the needle in the centre position and have the tools with me on the mountain to adjust the clip should it be necessary. I would also change both primary and secondary clutch springs as they are probably worn out. If you are not comfortable doing these things yourself, I would bring it to a dealer and have it done there. Your sled will perform better and you will have a more enjoyable trip.

Depends on the tracks. I think the mountain cats had a pretty small paddle, maybe 1.5"? If your fusion has the same or better it might actually do better with the extra power. I've never ridden a fusion though. Up to you! If you've ridden both you will know which feels like it would do better. Don't get me wrong the 570 will still be a lot of fun, just have to choose terrain and pick your lines accordingly. IE: don't plan your day around making it into a bowl that requires a big climb to get to.
