Narrowed it down to these two goggles. What’s the real world comparison to those of you who had them or been around them?

If those were my only two choices I’d get the 509’s even though there lens tech isn’t as good. Granted it’s been four or five years since I owned 509’s. Reason is 509’s are not a ski goggle and are designed to fit in a helmet. My experience is if you have proper frames (outriggers for a helmet) you really don’t need the heat since they seal properly against your face. A ski goggle will not seal well with a MX helmet and you will have to continually cycle the heat to keep them clear. And the 509’s have the nose guard for wind and ice chunks if you follow to close.

Oakley rose prism or nothing.
I’m more of a Prizm Hi-Pink guy since it’s ALWAYS flat light in Revy/Sic. But I agree, you sure can’t beat Oakley’s!

I have the Oakley infernos but they no longer sell them and all I need is a new lense “rose” mine are scratched up pretty good but I can’t buy them anywhere. For the land miner infernos so time for new goggles. Makes sense though 509 are designed for helmets whereas Aboms are not specifically

I believe abom has broke into the snowmobiler market and are offering a different goggle. I personally have Aboms and have no issue with them also have Oakley infernos, there ok but have a annoying battery sticking out the side and no display of if there on or not, abom does, not sure on fog o nines . And check riders for Oakley parts.

If you look at the ABOM's they have two styles. The ABOM ONE which is the standard snow goggle and on sale every where. Then they made the HEET which is a smaller profile for use in helmets and listed for power sports.
I am interested in reviews also as I am about to order a set.

Like someone else already mentioned, Oakley inferno has been discontinued so you cant get them anymore. The choice comes down to the 509 and Abom and if i were in the market for a heated goggles right now, I'd get the Abom over 509. Nothing against 509 but it just seem their products are not as well thought out compared to others.

PS. Im glad i bought 3 pairs of the Oakley inferno on clearance when they were being discontinued

I have the Abom HEET's and I really like them but try them with your helmet before you buy them . They did not fit well in my FXR helmet but fit really good in Troy Lee helmets.

I have X6’s and Abom Ones (and Oakleys). I have $1000 worth of heated goggles. None are perfect and all offer a little different option. The Ones have the same size battery as the Heats. The Heats are considered Motorsport friendly because of the frame profile. They were not designed for Motorsports. I find zero issues with the Ones fitting a helmet so to say the Heats are designed more for helmet use is a stretch, if anything the actual strap maybe longer. Many snowmobile specific goggles are a larger frame design and no issues.

The X6’s have a much larger battery and for that reason alone I would get the 509’s. Otherwise the Abom lens quality is better, the quality is better, and I prefer the indicator that shows what mode they are in.

I recently bought the ABOM ONE with the Xray Grey lens and used them the last two weekends, love them, no cords to deal with and they lasted all day. I set them on constant heat instead of the intermittent mode to see how long they would last, rode for six hours and did not shut them off when we took a break so basically on full heat for 7 hours, at the end of seven hours, they were still heating, how much longer they would have lasted, I don't know, but can't complain about seven hours, average temp. was about -5c.

They are currently on sale (ABOM ONE) for $ 179 USD , regular $269 USD + S&H + CUSTOM CHARGES :(

You can also get interchangeable lens for different riding conditions $ 99 USD each on sale.

Not cheap, but worth it to me, I like seeing where I am going !

The ABOM HEET are $289 USD + all the other charges.

509 Ignite x6 work realy well . I like the two minute on thing as it is just enough to clear them if starting to fog and the battery lasted two days for me using them like that.
