How big a boat? Open bow? A 115 isn't really that big if on a 18+ft open bow. You will never get it coming out of the hole really hard I don't think.
We went to a 90 on a 16 ft open bow and I think it is sluggish
But on that same note we had a 225 on a 19.5 ft before
Good luck playin with props

I'm surprised it won't pull a 19. I'd make sure the engine is pulling properly before you dump $$ on a prop. Does it start good?

it starts great..... but it has stalled a few times at low idle in gear ...... gonna change all the fuel lines to tygon , and the filter to clear one . ordered new plugs today

I've seen where people turn the idle down cause they dont like the clunck it makes putting it in gear. Its abit of a fine line, if your stalling offten might be worth 1/8 turn? Still strange that it ran great last year but not so much this year, youve purged the bad fuel. Good luck, at least your getting wet while ya try different stuff!

Try plugs first when first bought my old out board I thought it just wasn't very fast. Very boggy not much jump. Found out a month later I had a bad plug and was only running on 2 cylinders. Gained all my jump back with a 5$ plug little thing was a monster then.

when tuning the prop you need to know the rpm the motor is turning and is it what Mercury recomends the motor turns
pitch and the diameter of the prop are key the your " proplem "

I do have to agree its not a lot of motor for that boat if he told you he was getting 60mph I think he's blowing smoke 60kms maybe. I know a guy with a 115 on a little 14' banshee and he pulls 52 mph on gps
