350 block, 350 pistons, 400 crank =383 and if done right = 450HP and 500ft/lb of torque + a ton of fun. 4.8,5.3 and 6.0 are all the same block.

The 5.3 is a stroked 4.8 but the 6.0 is a bored AND stroked 4.8. the 6.0 block can support some serious power.

Just thinking out load again, your 5.3 / 6.0 swap is not just a bolt up/ plug and play.

There will be suttel differences, fuel rails, fuel returns, injectors, EGR on 5.3 and none on some 6.0 etc. Not deal breakers but be prepared for some of it. Plus your tranny will not take the long term Hi HP hit's of the 6.0. But like I said not deal breakers.

This might sound dumb but I put smaller tires on my 99 GMC 5.3 and it made a big difference I ran 265/75/18 without the trailer and put 245/75/16 when I pulled the trailer and the difference was about 10-15 km/hr on the hills. Plus it didn't drop down as much on the smaller hills. I found it cheaper then gearing down as I liked the way the truck drove without the trailer. I only used the trailer 2-3 times a year for holidays, it was a daily driver the rest. Swapping wheels a couple of times a year was easy. My truck was rated for 8200 lbs and the trailer was ALL of that+:nono::rolleyes:.

When i was truck shopping i looked at the vortec max i liked it but if you get a crew cab half ton the box is only 5'8'' .On my 3/4 ton the box is 6'6''It is something to think about if you are hauling a quad or sled.I don;t have a sled anymore .When i haul my trailer now i just take the tailgate off but with the max i don't think a quad would fit with the tailgate off.1500 extended cab Max you can get a 6'6'' box
