Not as bad here on the island, main highway to Victoria is open single lane alternating traffic from 6 am to 6 pm,then closed all night, the wifes work had to put her up down there so she could work on wind damaged lines with Telus, some roads are completely closed but the good thing about here is there's logging roads that take you around most of them, there running the little ferry 24 hours a day for emergency access Victoria but the line up is huge, stupid people here are starting to hoard food and gas,we have 5 major Ferry's between here and mainland BC and Washington State,my grocer doesn't see a supply issue for most stuff but is happy to get a large increase in sales.its easy to blame government and districts but no one under 80 years old has seen or dealt with anything like this, mother nature can reak havic no matter how well you are prepared,us being sledders should no that, the military was flying people out that were stranded in spots with nothing but if your stranded in a town that's low priority compared to stranded on the roof of the car or house,

Well pretty bad here in Lower mainland B.C. highways are still closed and flooding in the valley is still covering the highway. Update today on the number 5 Coquilhalla is not good 6 different spots to fix and said it will be months to repair. So our main sledding area is out for the year. Also number 1 Highway is going to be weeks to months as well.

Sound like prairie north is back running soon at that teck pond job. are you not going back. Dec 8th we start drilling there. Been on hold but sounds like it’s a go.
They have had rock trucks and other equipment rolling for a few weeks now.

What a $hitshow of a mess those roads and rail lines are. Going to affect a lot of people for a long time.

I’m not sure in the rail situation to the coast but as a farmer I have concerns about getting my grain to port

There is 5 to 10 wash outs on the rail line.

Nothing is getting to the port by rail for a while.

What a ch!t show.

They randomly opened the road to let us with no notice at all. People literally left their vehicles on the sides of roads at the air port and boat launch, jumping on anything they could to get out of Hope.

Took us 4-5hrs to get out. Good people at Helijet let us cancel the chopper ride with a full refund.

We ended up leaving my truck in Abbotsford and flying home lastnight. There is no physical drive route back home within Canada. I don’t have my vaccine so getting on a plane was an interesting ch!t show. Hours in the phone with the CBSA, Air Canada, Government COVID hotline and emergencies hotlines yielded nothing. Having been infected with Covid within 90 days, I was unable to take a PCR test, they wouldn’t test me and said it’s against policy and will be positive anyways.

I went to the Abbotsford airport, I found a lady sitting in an office and told her my story. I explained I need an emergency exception to fly out of here or I’m literally stranded in Vancouver for who knows how long. After explain the strange mess I was in, she made some calls and they approved me. She took me over to the check in desk, I bought a ticket and off we went.

The people of Hope and stranded folks were all great, everyone was really helpful and we are very proud of everyone and how they came together. The government and their response on the other hand, was pathetic. Not a single warning, no command centre, very amateur. My heart goes out to the farmers and flood victims, a bit of a warning could have saved a lot of livestock, people being stranded and property. I hope voters open their eyes after repeated fumbles made by these politicians and ministers. Heads need to roll in my opinion.

With the amount of equipment they are mobilizing, they are getting it done as fast as possible. Ol Billy G is losing billions with all his trains parked.

He is in the train business as well? Or thinking of Warren Buffet?
