Okay so my buddy has a 400ex that I love to ride. I'm finally going to buy my own fourwheeler and I'm wondering how the bottom end is on the 450's compared to the 400ex. I know a slip-on exhaust and jet really woke up the bottom end of his quad will it be the same thing on a 450? By the way i'm probably lookin at a trx450 or a yfz.

Really its apples to oranges. The 450s are much, much torquier and more responsive. You're comparing a trail quad to a mx quad with a race based engine. The 400ex won't even compare to the 450 piped or not.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. He tells me that the 450's just have a lot of top end because they're race quads. I'm pretty sure that's just because he doesn't want me whoopin on him :d

Hows mantenaince on the 450r? I'm pretty new to sport quads so I don't know too much. How often do you have to rebuild? I also do a lot of drops/jumps in tight places where I can't really come at them to fast. How tough is it to work the clutch on this quad?

i have owned my trx for 3 years and i have done everything from motorcross to ice racing.

it has not been driving very easy lol. i have only had to rebuild th motor once and that was because the chain anapped and coiled on the front sproket and cracked the crank case. and for the clutch i have replaced mine once

very well built machine
