Doesn't pulling weight out to compensate make the belt slip a lot more? I have a 2.5 and small drivers on my 2011 Summit and it doesn't over rev on click 4/5 so I figured another .5'' would bog it down more. Someone told me that the reason the 3'' works so well is because it doesn't waste a bunch of power spinning and trenching, it just hooks up and builds speed rather than having all the speed near the bottom and fighting to keep it moving through the climb. It's not something that you can test and prove though.... just a theory I thought was interesting.

that theory is correct in my opinion although a theory. every bit of extra lug you add will keep it on top of the snow longer.

as far as the clutching. in your case if your on clicker 4 with the 2.5 you would then consider dropping a tooth or two. or adding to the bottom gear. assuming your running stock gearing. this wont reduce the clamp on the belt from removing weight. even though removing a gram or so wouldnt make much difference. you will still see similar track speeds. if you think your dialed in with the 2.5 and want to move to the 3" i think one tooth on either gear would make up the difference

pretty sure there is no 154 3" there was talk of one but not sure if it ever came about.

for you guys running the drop and roll or the extended chaincase does your sled go 4000$ higher?

But Maxwell, you spent a couple grand more than the Pro guys and you're not going higher than them.

I spent 14000 mods included brand new on my sled and it will rock any pro any day. Trust. Me I have 2 in my group. but you will be at mm4 ill show you :D

Wow, large statement in print. Any Pro, any day, thats pretty confident. We'll bring a couple for ya to whip up on. LOL.
