That must have made a cool sound

LOL !! "cool" might not be the word I used. Horrendous bang followed by very loud rattling. Sled came to a very quick stop allowing me to practice a partial handstand and ungraceful dismount.

Great meeting you boys as well ! I worked on the clutch tonite but it's fighting me. No success yet. I'm just going to haul it to Northstar as it sounds like it's warranty. I'll let them deal with it.

That was ugly, i'm glad you were'nt hurt Ken! What rpm did that let go at?

RPM was probably 7000 - 7500. I let off when I dropped off a small hump, opened it up after landing and made it about two sled lengths before the big bang. Just dropped it off at the dealer an hour ago and they will be checking crank runout.

Hey Guys I've seen a few people mention that the 3" paddles will de-laminate from the belt when using 7 tooth drivers for the 3" tracks. Seems to be a fair number of guys running them though. I'd like to try going to a 3" before next winter.

How many miles have you guys been running a 3" on a pro for and are you using 7 tooth drivers? Thanks

Also does anyone know how the chaincase case on my 12 can be modified to accomodate the track. I can take care of most of my own mechanical work so would like to be able to do this myself. Last track I cahnged out I did look at this bubble on the tunnel side of the chaincase and was not sure if modifying the case was possible but have heard others mention that mountain magic has been doing it.

Chaincase mod is relatively easy if you are good at aluminum welding or know someone who is. I notched the cases for both sleds we did and made filler pieces out of 2" aluminum angle 6061. A local welder did the welding for us. Here's a pic someone else posted a while back that I used as a guide as to where to cut.

Sweet. Thanks High Velocity. That is exactly what I was looking for. Probably wait until this summer. Get it all prepped myself then take to a shop or freelance guy to weld it up for me. ;)
