i'm kinda getting bored with the gun thing lately. don't mind throwing a wrench into the fan once in a while, but just don't lead to any resolution allthough every once in a while someone does have some very good comments, on both sides. that i like.

i agree and disagree with that comment. people having a fear of not being able to purchase items can have negative effect. they go out and buy items they may not have bought otherwise. the only ones that benefit are the manufacturers.

i was thinking that most of this ammo may have a shelf life, if so what happens to this stuff after the expiration date. again just something that came to mind. it is amazing the results of a little fear mongering by a few, that may have a hidden agenda.

Shelf life isn't a big deal. I have some surplus stuff from the '60's that's as good as the day it was put in the crate.

Fear mongering aside I wish I would have picked up 10K of 22's when it was a buck something a box.

well i suppose if stored properly it would be good, yes prices are going to keep increasing, looks like people are acting like leamings, follow the leader. anyhow did take a browse throught the ammo shortage posting, kind of funny really. may do more for gun control than anything else.

i found over the years when everyone is telling you to buy before it runs out, your better off to walk away with your money in yer pocket, worked for realestate in the 80's, bre ex , and stock market. etc. the ones who are making the money are the manufactures and sellers the rest are pretty much out of control.

There not condoms Larry..:beer::rolleyes:

thanks medler. i have never had shells sitting around for an extended length of time so guess i had no idea. kind of thought they would be good for a year or two. so looks like some will have enough ammo till the next century.

If you run into shelf life troubles just give me a shout. I can hook you up with some good surplus

Thing is probably more people shoot for recreation than hunt. Shooting 500 rounds in a weekend isn't out of the question. Your lifetime supply Larry is a couple days of plinking for avid shooters.

you are a textbook example of fearing something because you don't understand it, Larry.

that still seems like lot of 22 shells don, but i guess there is always someone. seems like they are buying more than just 22 shells don, can't see many shooting that many 30-06 or 308 in a weekend. but hey there may be one or two.

Used to easily shoot 200-300 rounds of 308 in an afternoon. Plus other calibers too. 9mm, .45, .22, .223, .338 lapua.

Yeah, not many shooting that many rounds out of a bolt .06 on a weekend. Many shooting .308, 223 (5.56), 7.62x39, .22 and all the pistol calibres in those kinds of numbers though. That's the calibres that get scarce first. Remember the evil semi's are very common in the above loads.

that may be don. i have no way of knowing, again makes no difference to me. i'd be lucky to shoot 50 shells out of a 22 in a year. don't really have the need to shoot anymore. usually hit what i shoot at.
