Textron has run Cat into the ground and they are probably in the best position to take them to the front of the pack resource wise. Time for a new player with deep pockets to step up but who would that be?
At this point it's going to need to be a passion project for a group of owners that can pick the brand up for pennies on the dollar and invest some sweat and blood into R&D since cash will be very strapped.

If people really cared they would all buy a catalyst and support the company. Hopefully these machines perform this year and have no gremlins. They are sexy looking sleds but I'm just not sure about the monorail. .

...........Well I did a little reading and the monorail looks like it's had time to prove itself. They were having problems with the ascender and alpha but not serious problems, catalyst riders like their sleds and it might be able to save the company.

If no one has had a look at the new catalyst up close, they have some in fernie at that dealer there. Sweet looking sleds. I just bought an 850 turbo 2 weeks ago or I'd consider it. I'm wishing them luck as the last thing we need is the industry reduced to just 2 brands. There will be no price competitiveness.

Kind of sad really. Artic cat took the industry to New levels and then just got obliterated. I believe Textron owns Polaris too?

The monorail was great. Extremely manueverable. The dowside to that is it was squirrelly as all hell. Fixed twin rail works better in 95% of situations in my experience. The alpha is unmatched for downhill j turns though.

Spoke to my dealer and while not official yet, there is a fix enroute to address potential bogging issues. Not all machines, but have some bogging issues related to servos as you have all heard. My dealer ordered all new updated servos and new ECM flashes, even though not a recall yet.

Racing is the life blood of all manufacturers. It creates interest in the product and is a source of pride for any manufacturer. It’s to bad it’s going to be SkiDoo and Polaris racing against each other only going forward.

I think we are going to see a shrunken Polaris and skidoo race program this year aswell

fair review. Alpha is the most fun sled I've owned by a wide margin. Early reviews of the Catalyst is that it washes out much less than the Ascender did. 3" alpha track is still the top dog traction wise even over the 3.25 series 9.

I would love to have that 3.5" pitch powerclaw track on my turbo doo.

Textron were partners with Polaris through the 70’s, I believe they sold them in the early 80’s.
Damn Ai. Ai says Textron owns Polaris, then in the next search it says they don't own Polaris. Looks like Polaris is just Polaris now?????? In 1981 they bought the company back? Quite confusing trying to search this.

I already ran the new flash and i still BOGS. The clutching seems to be the main issue. It has a weird dead spot down low and I dont think its loaded correctly off of initial hard throttle input. With a revised set up, the Bogs stopped. Was able in improve the bottom end, but the top end is still lacking track speed.
