Well the weather held off and turned out to be a great night for racing . We qualified 5 out of 11 cars , .13 of a second from 4th but still always to go to get the speed of the top 3. Was the alternate for the dash which is the 4 fastest cars for 4 laps , the alternate goes out to because if there's a crash or break down in the first lap they get to fill the spot . There was a crash but all cars kept running , but I got a couple start practices which was nice. Started outside front row of the heat race which turned out to be a ruff race , got the lead by turn 3 then got punted into a spin which is never good when your in front of 6 other cars , took some damage but was able to carry on but put at the back for the restart. Got my ch!t together after being pissed off and fought back to finish 3rd. Main event was trying to ,started 6 of 12 (one car showed up late so we all agreed to let him jump in where he normally would be ruffly from past qualifiers). Race started good , very tight pack for 3 or 4 laps when a buddy of mine decided to go 3 wide and with him squeezing me down and the inside car drifting up we all rubbed together and me trying to get out of the situation I got the worst of it and around I go . Luckily no one else hit me but that put me to the back where I proceeded to get to aggressive and ended up just spinning myself out and no caution so I was a ways behind. Managed to catch a couple cars and with one dnf end I came home in 9th. Not a great night but I learned some more about how the car reacts and where it likes to run so it was all good. Drove it on the trailer so that's always good , all and all had a blast. That is where the night went to ch!t.i guess in my hyped up rush to get race ready I managed to leave my ignition key on after doing up my window ,got side tracked I guess and jumped out and locked it with my door key pad like I always do. Well 4 hours later go to get in and nothing. No keypad . Finally realized what I did so had to call bcaa for help, waited for about an hour for him to show up , took him a while to get in then he pulls out a jumper box, I said I don't think that's going to be enough and he say well that's all I've got because his plug in jumpers have been broken for a few weeks, as it turned out that boost box was now where near enough to start a complete dead diesel. Then he proceeded to say that the batteries were too low and he couldn't do anything to help. Keep in mind it's now 1130 and the place is pretty much empty. I'm like well we can't just be left here and I will try and find some cables out of the last 4 people there, got luck and a guy had a set so back I go with them then the tow driver says he can't get at his battery, it's under a cover, by this time I'm pissed and told him I'd get in there because I'm not being stuck here, just then a guy in a truck was leaving so I asked him. Hooked up the cables had a quick gab and she fired right up thankfully . Proceeded to tell the tow guy how unimpressed I was with him showing up unprepared as I told them it would need a jump. So it was a late one getting home but thankfully we made it.

There was a cool car jump at the end of the evening. Volvo wagons are pretty tuff cars. Sorry the pics aren't great.

Well it's going to be a hot one at the track tonight. Got the damage fixed up and made a few adjustments to the suspension so hoping for a decent night

I was right on it being a hot one last night , 30 c it got up to , probably 40 or more in the car , it was brutal . So qualified 5 again but me and 4th were closer to the top 3 then we ever have been . First race started 2 , got the lead and stayed there for a couple laps till one of the top 3 got buy but held the rest off and came home second. My best finish in the 05 car so that was good. Next race started 4th ,made a few move and was passing for the lead when I got clipped in the left rear and around I went. At the race he said i chopped him but I'm pretty sure i was in my lane and he came up but it was off to the back for both of us. Ended up 5th . Main event was 13 cars , started 7th , made some great .loves the first lap to get up to third but a big crash behind me brought out the caution and a complete restart , due to crashes car being out I lined up in the 6 position on the outside which ducked because the car up front got a terrible start so we went back to like 10th in the first 3 laps . Had some awesome battles with cars working out way forward , side buy side for laps at a time another time 3 of us were swapping positions every lap and running 3 wide quite a few times. Was up to 6 with one to go but blew a shift on the last corner , went from 3rd to 4th gear so lost drive for a second until I got back into 2nd so he got buy me buy about 2 ft so 7th it was. Overall a great night. I felt a lot more comfortable in the car we got a lot of close racing in which is a blast, no damage and drove it on the trailer.

The big show last night was crash to pass boat race, what a blast it would be to drive in that but it's fun to watch to.

Well it's been a while due to a rain out but we got back on the track last night. It was a warm one at 26 c and no breeze but a great turn out of cars and fans . Qualifying went awesome with my first ever run in to the 18 second range which put me 3rd fastest. In the trophy dash was doing ok but with it being a 4 lap race there's no time for waiting around so on lap 2 I took a shot at my only chance pass but it was more then the car could handle so around I went but no harm to mine or anyone else's car so all good . The heat race was good I kept right behind the fact car of the night to get up to 3rd for a decent finish. In the main event started 11 of thirteen and was hoping for a good start but the outside line didn't have a great start after 2 laps I was last , so started picking them of 1 by 1 , got a little ruff passing one guy and got my first black flag warning of the season , worked my way to5th but 4th was a ways away but purple haze ( that's what I call her ) hooked up and was flying , got to him but like they say catching them is one thing passing is another, I worked him over hard for the last 3 laps but credit to him he drove a perfect line and made it tuff but got me at the finish line by maybe a foot. Over all a great night for the 05 team . We are starting to get some speed and the rest of the field is impressed with our improvements so that makes us pumped to get even better. Did have a axle seal go and was leaking pretty good buy the end of the night but lasted long enough. So drove it on the trailer and all was well.

Also o the race card was big rigs , 3 of which were from Alberta, they boogie around the track at about 1 second slower then me so that's pretty fast for a big truck.

Outlaw minis came up from Victoria for a race and put on a great show. These cars are fast, they run in the mid 17 seconds, there only rule is the drivetrain has to match the type of car besides that its open to do as you wish.

For our next race we are heading south to race at western speedway in Victoria for the last time as that track is being closed down after this season which really sucks but they have money to buy new property but taking a while to find the right place. Really looking forward to it as it's the only track that I've never raced on on the island , three have already closed over my race career so sad to lose another one thankfully are track was just bought by a racer who is investing a lot of money to fix the place up and keep racing going on the north island which is great.

It's a beautiful day for racing here on the west coast . Got the axle seal replaced , adjusted the suspension a little for the different track and mounted the racing tires . Now it's a 2 hour drive to get there , traffic should be nuts most of the way.

Well we made through another night , the car was fast right off the trailer which was good considering we didn't really have a clue on set up. Qualified 5 out of 21 which shocked the ch!t outta me , wasn't quite expecting to be that good . In the heat race we started 9 of 10 cars , the inside lane got a bad start so last before turn 3 but started picking them off and got up to 4th , was a good run ,never even got hit or come close to hitting anyone else. Main event time, this was largest field I've raced in in a lot of years so it was a little nerve wracking but started 16 which of course was on the outside so got a good start and with all the mayhem of the first 2 or 3 laps I was able to.make some great moves to be in the top 10 by lap 5 , kept charging hard and got up to 4th but 2nd and 3rd turned out to be very hard to get bye for me , then the car had something funky going o for like 3 or 4 laps, dont really know what was going on , just didn't sound right so I didn't go full out but it seemed to fix it self but in the mean time I got passed by 3 cars .so back on the charge I went and caught back up to the same 2 cars I was trying to get bye before but still couldn't do it , frustrating , so now the 2 fastest cars caught up and got bye the 3 of us . Thought about using the bumper more then once but since I was from outta town I kept forcing myself to be respectful to there points race that they've been doing all season and didn't want to be that guy, tempting but no. When the checkered flag dropped we cam home 9th which is a very good run for our team . We are improving every race and that keeps us excited to keep trying to get better. The sad part is I loved driving the track and now it will be just history come September. Feel bad for all the racers who have a hard decision to make now , drive 3 hours each way to race or quit which sucks, they have a big field of cars that will be parked. Overall a awesome night at the track. Driving home had some excitement to , I'm cruising along in the slow lane approaching a slow car in the fast lane with a little white car hot on its ass, I guess the white car was trying to get the slow car to move over because as I was approaching it was flashing its lights at the slow car , then as I get right up beside them the white car decided he was going to pass in my lane well he got so close I couldn't see the front of his car before he realized I was there so he swerves back into his lane as I keep cruising, so of course I'm watching in my mirror as my truck cleared the idiot he cranks it over to try to get in behind my truck he actually hit my trailer right on the tires and fender. I saw sparks and his car bounce so now I'm pissed and slow down to pull over, he books it bye and f#cks off but with some good damage to his right front fender from what I saw as he passed. Everything was fine on the trailer other than some white paint.

Also on the schedule was the big rigs for there last race on the island before they make there way back to Alberta. The burn out competition was good but it was right before I raced so didn't get to see much but the smoke.

Purple haze was back on track again last night and it was quite the night . It was a nice cool cloudy 21 degrees which was a nice change from the high 20s to low 30s it's been the last few races. We were slow in practice and the car just wasn't handling well and I was struggling to hit my mark's so we were a little down but kept making adjustments trying to figure it out. Qualifying was another story, we hit on something and the car felt a lot better and I picked up my game and ended up third, good for us. In the the trophy dash( 4 cars,4 laps) we started outside front row and it was a battle, stayed tight together for the whole race and swapped positions every lap and we ended up 2nd buy about half a car. My heat race(6 cars, 8 laps) was up next and we started inside last row , it was close racing for 4 laps and I had worked my way up to 2nd when entering turns 3 I heard a big bang and caution came out, one of our competitors and friend had hit the wall hard so the race got red flagged and we sat on

the track for at least 15 minutes while the paramedics checked him out and they cleaned up the mess. He is going to be a sore puppy today I'm sure but good to see him walk away from the ambulance, so back to racing we went and it seemed to kinda change how everyone was driving and it was a clean last 4 laps ,we did get passed so ended up 3rd . Then it was main event time, 25 laps with 11 cars, started 9th and the field stayed tight for 3 laps then coming into turn one I was trying to work the outside when the inside car pushed up bad and collected us sending me spinning, luckily I was able to gather it up and get it stopped like 6 inches off the wall. I played the trouble card and just sat there till they threw the caution even though the car was fine and still running I wanted to get caught back up easily instead of like I've done in the past where I'd get going but be way back. So the restart went well and I started working my way forward, had a real close call as 2 cars in front of me got together and were both spinning out I shot the gap between then buy inches but made it . Restart went good again and I was running 6th and the car was handling great so fought my way up to 3rd right on seconds ass and battle him hard but he edged me out at the line but I was still very happy in the car as this was our first podium of the year so I was happy with third , off to the tech pad we go , top 3 of main event get teched every race night , the checked chamber, tire size and made us take off the valve cover , well as it turned out the winner was running illegal cams so we got bumped up to 2nd place. It was good for us to finally get a decent finish, we were all smiles in our pit and it felt good to get a good result for them. Well that was week 2 of 3 in a row so let's hope for on more good night before our break.
