My last trip home on the Tuesday after thanksgiving I pulled through golden with 1 min to spare before the noon closure came on. It was pretty tense. The guy was standing with the gates in his hand ready to put them out. When w got to the other side the gates were closed and people were turning back. That would suck having to go all the way back to castle junction then around when you are literally 10min from golden at that point. We ended up stopping to let the dogs out and when we got back on the highway it was totally dead. I wish I could travel like that all the time. It's like playing the lottery. 1 week to soon. Slow start this year again. But I get it. fresh air is pricelessJust curious.... about conditions on road up to Boulder...
What km on the trail are guys unloading at?
Thanks in advance
Snow line is about half way down the mountains and looking west /south about at HWY 23 south level
It would be pretty wild in one of those cranes dangling on the edge, certainly death if those piles fail…..so is the plan there to extend the road out more instead of blasting the rock out? Some amazing work and engineering happening near Golden so there’s good reason for it to be closed . Unfortunately you are looking at 1 1/2-2 hours longer to go around by Radium.
