Just stopped by, the new G4 is easier to lean over than the 174 beside it.

Man, it's ugly though, especially the dash area, horrible. Looks like a big plate that you'll need to clean off the whole thing in the deep powder.

Yeah, the dash is the size of a helipad, the front end doesn't look as wide in person. They sure changed around everything under the hood though, the new RAVE valve system is pretty cool though.

In response to the gripe about the gauges: On a mountain sled, when can you actually see them? I honestly don't think they are worth much, just kind of a food for thought sort of deal.

We brought some scales to the show. Here's our very scientific NASA confirmed weights of the sled. All weights are within 100 lbs so no bitching.
162 viper sidewinder mtx. 584 lbs
850 doo 165 2.5" track. 476 lbs
T3 174. 491 lbs
174 axys. 472 lbs
163 3" axys. 461 lbs
163 2.6" axys. 442 lbs
not at the show but in my garage 174 turbo pro. 474 lbs

The Yamaha guy wasn't to happy we were going to weigh it. Then when we were done he was " that's better than I thought it was going to be!" Good on Yamaha to get under 600 lbs. But why couldn't they redesign the seat? The seat is the size of a lazy boy.
We couldn't weigh the 850 with 3" as it had its plastics off. Probably just a couple lbs heavier anyway. Good job on doo to drop that much weight of the T3. Didn't really like the size of the brake in the footwell,feels a little obtrusive. And the Ron Jeremy jock strap protecting the chaincase is huge. No need to pack water along just pack a straw and drink out of there all day.
The grey and yellow axys looks way better in person but wish the red one had a 174.

I can't even imagine the technology that will be in all the sleds in another 5 years.

I've been doing these shows a long time... And that is the first time I have ever seen anyone bring bathroom scales to weigh snowmobiles. However your weights are going to be off... Some of those sleds were wet and some were dry. The orange 2.5 850 you guys weighed was full of fuel and oil... That was a rider. Most of the others were dry. I think what you were doing is good... Your numbers just won't be accurate. Not just for BRP... Some of the other brands there had wet and dry sleds... Some were ride protos and some weren't.
