2017 Recoil Access

Hey guys,

I have a new to me 2017 that has electric start only, I picked up a recoil to install as back up and began tearing off plastic...any help with how much I really have to take off and how to remove these two screws??

Are you trying to remove the hood? If so, take the two screws out of the gauge cluster.
Pop out the cluster and remove the wire harness of it. Remove the glove box, and the wires to the headlights and the sensor.
Open the clutch side panel and take a philips screwdriver and loosen the boot clamp for the air intake. There are two more screws under where the gauge cluster was, and there are two more by the hinge for the side panel. Slide the hood forward and it comes right off.

There is six screws to remove the whole hood
first open glove box lid
there will be 2 screws one on each side- rmove
now lift out glove box- then lift front of cluster up, bottom of cluster pops off
undo wire harness- remove cluster
undo light and air sencer wire
now 2 screw at top under where cluster was- 2 more screws with washers, one on each side about half way down side of hood
now under hood above secondary clutch is air intake- loosen clamp with phillp screw driver
now hood is ready to remove- stand at front of sled grab sides of hood and pull towards front of sled- can be a liitle tuff as plastic hooks have to pop out of holders

if only doing the recoil you dont have to remove hood, just side panel and muffler

Got it! Recoil installed. Now time to install the skid plate and possibly a can...

Any recommendations on a quiet ish can for these 850s?
