I'm unbiased - I haven't rode the new Axys yet, nor have I rode the Gen4 Rev, but likely they are both capable machines, much as the Pro, XM, and Proclimb all were as well. Really depends on the rider, as likely 90% of them can't ride any of them to their full potential (myself included). Really, who cares if one is 5 - 15 lbs heavier then the next one? I've been at this a while, and I can honestly say that dealer support and service is the single most important deciding factor when I purchase a new sled, and what determines if I make another purchase at said store.
I'd like to see ALL of the manufacturers step up and offer a demo ride program - just because a sponsored rider or magazine says this / that is the best doesn't make it so. I'm not a professional rider with an unlimited parts budget, so I expect my $15-$17k spent to be worthwhile, as this sport is something I do for enjoyment, it isn't how I make my living. I generally don't finance my toys either, so perhaps it's harder for me to justify a big ticket purchase as opposed to $200/month...dunno. If I'm not happy with my purchase, I'll either sell it ASAP and take the hit, or spend a few bucks on it to improve it's shortcomings. Let's face it, they are simply snowmobiles, and the aftermarket can correct low power, poor handling, weight, or suspension issues. But there is a seat for every "a$$", and they ALL have problems whether stock or modified. But bashing a brand before it's even on the snow or based on media claims is a complete waste of time. I rode one brand for several years, then broadened my horizon by simply trying something else, and I switch it up as much as possible by riding other brands and models with an open mind.
