Hey folks. We try to NEVER do negative posts, but this one is more important than most of you know. I should be posting picks of blue bird riding in great snow, but we now have to deal with the severe and negative actions of a very few.

The logging in Clemina is very serious. VARDA has gone to extensive efforts to work with the forestry companies and to provide an alternate route for the snowmobile users (which turned out awesome) and was a big cooperation by government, yet a very few people seem to think it is still better to ride an ice packed, rock filled FSR.

Riding the FSR makes no sense and riding a plowed forest service road is illegal.

I have spent much energy, on a Sunday......NOT to get the area closed down for the rest of the season thanks to a very few people.

To the few who think the road is cool, you suck.....and you have no idea what your disrespectful actions have the potential to do to the entire sledding community.

Please practice a bit of self policing out there and help us out with this cause.

Ride safe.

Being in the forestry business I can share this with the group building off of Curtis posting about us riding on the active Forestry road.
For the forestry contractor, safety is now the biggest issue to secure a logging contract and the biggest risk to lose the contract and deal with safety performance penalties.
So both the Logging truckers and the Forestery workers in bush and the landing all have a vested interest in performing at a zero tolerance regarding safety and it impacts their pay cheque thorough a penalty process. So when we snowmobile on the road, there is no line of site for the trucker going up or down as we are not calling out the kilometers so they have no awareness that we are on the road. So the simplest way for the Loggers to deal with this and remove the risk is to ask us to leave the area. The loggers do sympathize with us however this is how they make their living and in the Valemount area where logging has been clobbered since the mill shut down, they have no room for error. It is critical we stay off the road and educate each other as to the importance.

yup, it was freaking cold up there yesterday, but much warmer this morning. Lots of wind affect out there that moved this weeks new snow all over the place and created slabs in open areas and lee features.

Best riding this weekend will be in sheltered areas such as the timber

It sounds like a mix bag of weather for the weekend. We have received 30cms of snow over this last week although the raging winds on Wednesday night moved most of it around. The new snowfall forecasted for today should help provide great conditions heading into the weekend. Find a good sheltered area at treeline for the best and safest snow.

We all know Alberta family day is a busy weekend, so please help by parking smart and obeying all rules and regulations.

Riders MUST use only the groomed trail at Clemina and stay off the logging road at all times. Failure to do so will cause us to lose access to the area.

If you are in an area affected by wildlife closures, it is YOUR responsibility to know where you are in relation to the boundaries.

We will be running the grooming fleet throughout the weekend, so please watch for groomers on the trail at all times. It's very likely we will be sending the groomer up Allen on Saturday afternoon to help with a smooth ride down, so again.....watch for the groomer at all times.
