I like the trail the way it is. keep from too many people venturing in there!

i think the long ride is what keeps most away, once your there your pretty committed to attempt the iced up trails. Only once was stuck behind carnage on the way in.....

Groundhog gets rode out so fast, I actually don't really understand why it's so popular. So people who wouldn't normally want to take a trail in like salmon end up going for it rather than sharing a crowded groundhog. The days of Salmon being a pristine low user gem are long over. There are dozens of sleds in there on a busy weekend now. Might as well have a nice trail in, but I understand why that may never happen. Snowmobile clubs are never flush with cash that they don't know what to do with.

I rode Groundhog East this weekend for my first time and really enjoyed the riding there (at least where we rode). Rolling hills and treelines for days. I can see how it is very popular but also get what you're saying about Salmon taking some of the 'overflow' traffic. At the end of the day, there's still fewer riders that choose Salmon vs GH and the Salmon area is large enough to handle some sled traffic without being too congested IMO.

We all want that one riding area to go to which not many others ride, but if that were the case, then we'd need a lot more riding areas lol

I'm sure access really inst much different than what it was on the weekend as you can easily drive to 10km at Finn Creek. But it was 8 Degrees this morning in Blue so I would say that amounts to rain all the way to the top just as Revy, Golden and Vale all got yesterday...

We went to Finn creek staging area yesterday , rain hit that whole area hard rightto the top . Access to KM 10 could be slightly sketchy in a pick up ,the road was a skating rink .
conditions are very similar to late late spring riding and decent snow has set up , lots of exposed rocks etc, ride with caution , they need a reload of fresh snow but the current weather forecast doesn’t look promising

Rode foam yesterday. Don’t think your going to be using the parking lot for access to any of the areas. I would suggest having chains if you want to drive up to 10k. Snow is settled and heavy. Not really worth the trip imho.

Just wondering what the access is like into groundhog/salmon? Snow bridge on trail in yet? What km you guys driving up to and are the loggers active up on the road? I'd imagine that rd up is pretty sparse for parking on with an enclosed trailer

Just came from blue river last night. Guys were fighting to get into salmon all weekend. AFAIK only two guys made it in. Access is good. Deck or SMALL two place up at KM 10 is easily doable. No loggers. Do not run an enclosed up. No snow up until about km 2. Youll be doing 100% gravel until that point. Nasty. Dont head to blue right now. All rained out. Horrible. We went home early yesterday.

Headed to Blue about Dec 13th.. but no new snow in sight? Will the whole place be tracked out or is it that busy there?

Has the north blue trail been broken out yet? Or is there still not enough for some of the creeks?

Wondering if going into salmon or ground hog you need a deck. Where about is the snow line on trail.
