I am narrow minded to think that the Doo faithful on here would never say the Polaris won't match the Doo as the Doo has the 174?

Wow. Who is narrow minded?

Sorry. I meant a doo faithful person would have to be narrow minded to think the new polaris won't compete

All new clutch belt, shorter clutch centers.

The belt should be the same. The changed the size on the lower pulley to keep the belt lengths the same is what I was told last month. I see no new info to change that.

why arent they using drivebelt for the 3"? 3" track I would guess be even more reason to run a belt drive?

They reduced the gearing ratio by 12% for the 3". Likely couldn't fit a large enough pulley in the bottom.

I just recall you saying what is below thats all Sean. And honestly I do not care if the Polaris 163 will not compete with the 174 3". I have no intentions on owning a 174, so if I "get beat" on a 163 by a 174 then I can just fall back on the excuse of not having a 174 :)

[h=2]maxwell [/h]Nothing bold about that statement the "axys" is an updated chassis and it's still not a 174x3. If polaris releases a 174x3 with that new engine and being lighter then yes it would likely beat the T3.

alota nice color options and alota cool changes this yr. sad to see chaincase on 3". I love my belt drive, could be deciding factor for 2.6 or 3" for me. I thought poo would pull a 174 this yr but i guess gotta save sum incentive for '17. Overall looks like a great yr if it snows

A run for it's money?? Ha...

As long as the RMK is running, the T3 isn't going to fair well under any condition.

Going to be an interesting season next winter.

That's pushing it. Doo still had a 174 16 wide track still lots more flotation and traction. Polaris is much lighter with the biggest being a 163x15x3. Will the eight difference close the gap? More than likely but to say the t3 won't fair well whatever that means is a bit of a stretch.

Basically it comes down to there being a 3" available on all the sleds now for those who want it. I actually am not even sure I would want it over the 2.6".

Doo has their 174 and Polaris has the lightest weight.

Now to decide if I snowcheck one or not :)

It seems the doo crowd is a little sub-dooed with the 2016 releases of the other brands

last year, it was "in yer face Poo rider" but now.....

not quite as cocky this year

going to be a quiet rest of the season, lol

I have one concern with the poo 3", to me the lugs are a little on the small size. The larger lugs scoop more snow at once where the smaller lugs grab smaller bites. Time will tell.

polaris lineup is nice. lots to digest as I find the website makes a guy bounce around to find much info...maybe better on a computer and not phone?
one thing I can say is I really dislike their color schemes. axys looks nice from some angles but with some colors it looks kinda ugly. simple change of cheap plastics would fix that easily.

pretty clear shot who they feel their competition is. hopefully will push brp to continue to refine and not rest.

Hands down Polaris had made the most improvements for the 16 season ! They really are catering to customer requests and needs ! Not saying I'm gonna jump over - but every manufacturer has there year or years of success ! Without competition I'd hate to think what we'd be riding !

i want to see how these (NEW) motors work..... if you have to put a fix kit in it to make the motor have NORMAL operating specs and have hope is stays reliable then its not for me. BUT if it is actually a good strong reliable for more then 3 months of running in trails sleds motor.... then the rmk will be in the pool for my next brand new machine

Personally I'm very glad they put the chain on the 3" model, because that's the track I want and also the drive system I want.
