2016 M8000's flooding????

Pulled sled that was full of fuel out of warm shop, went up to the lake 45 mins away to do some ice fishing and sled would not start after 5 pulls, dragged it off of deck, pulled three times with wide open throttle, drug into shop, pulled the plugs out and they had fuel...cleaned them up and left plugs out in a heated shop hoping the fuel would dicipate. after two hours still wouldn't start. Got the joy of loading a sled that won't start back onto the deck and than into the dealer this am. They took it apart and said the case was full of fuel and they cleaned er up and she fired right up....that it was flooded.

It didn't burp or fart or nothing, anybody have this issue?

My onlly comment is this,,,If you hold the thottle "wide open" on anything fuel injected you will flood it...it's not the same as the old carburated models where you can hold the throttle and let the pure aire purge out the fuel,,,the efi keeps adding fuel based on the signal from the throttle position sensor. You are better to crank it without touching the throttle if you suspect flooding.

Just found out that it is programming problem that Arctic Cat is aware of and that there should be a software update available shortly. frick.

The said it's specific to just the 16s. Same motor since 2010 and this is the third sled I've owned with this motor. My 14 hcr always started on the second pull

Similar issues on some 2012 and 2013 models too. Different mapping on each year.

Can't say my 16 has flooded, it's backfired pretty good a couple times when starting it again after stopping for a few minutes.

Talked to my dealer today...tried to see what the difference would be to trade in for same thing with estart. Ha but the don't have any left.

Said they have a demo sled and another customer that has the same problem. They have tried a few fixes and are waiting for a answer back from car

Sorry waiting for a answer back from cat. I love everything about the sled otherwise. Could be way worse problems to be had. We will get this and the rattle in the clutch sorted out and things will be golden

Saw this happen to a sled a few weeks back, i didn't end up with all the information but i believe it was an injector problem. Sled had same symptoms you described.

If your sled floods, hit the kill switch (turn off - this is very important), hold the throttle wide open, and pull it over 5 or 10 times. It will clear it out. Flip the kill switch back to on and it should start on first pull. Works for me any time mine floods (not very often).

Definitely have seen our fair share of rich running cats this past few years caused by faulty fuel pressure regulators. Cant say i have seen it so bad that it floods the engine to a no start point, but if the regulator sticks completely shut its entirely possible.

Did you ever find out what was the issue? I have a 16 with 200 miles and it is doing the same thing and runs very rich.

Any fuel injected engine when held wide open does not fire injectors its called clean flood cars, sleds, bikes everything fuel injected does this

When you go to start the sled cold leave the kill switch and key off pull it slow a few times until you feel it pull easier. These sleds will flood easy and they are hard to pull over cold. Had to use this method with all 4 cats i had especially the super charged one it was brutal.

I have taken mine to my dealer and they told me they have had several with the same issues as mine but nothing test bad. ECU test out good, air temp sensor test good, injectors test out good and cat wont give them any help on it. Its very disappointing I love this sled but is sucks not knowing every time I shut it off if it will start again.

This is not true.
