I have just rolled over 200k on my way home from sledding and my truck threw a code. It didn’t go into limp mode totally. I could still do highway speed but would only boost to about half the pressure which really makes it a gutless wonder. I scanned the code and it’s my DEF heater. The heater and pump are one part so it’s 650 and change for just the parts. I can swap it myself but for 1250 and change I can get a full Bullydog delete kit from HD diesel on sale right now with free delivery. First question has anyone used the Bullydog system and second has anyone dealt with HD Diesel?

Do not do Bully Dog.
Burning down engines.

I highly recommend Proven Diesel.

Personally I think they a bad rap because guys are running +200 hp tuners. If you use it strictly to delete the emissions and resist the temptation to turn up the hp I don't see why it'd run any hotter then stock.

Ya I’m not a young buck anymore. Just looking to get rid of the DEF. Just having a hard time justifying a 700$ fix to possibly be doing another repair when I can just get rid of it and possibly save some fuel dollars. This is my daily driven work truck so I’m not looking for coal rolling and burnouts.

Team dirt I did a full delete on my 2012 Superduty and it was done by Brad at Noble Diesel just outside of Lethbridge. Did the EGR full delete as well. He does his own tunes and I kept mine basically stock, maybe 50hp more. No smoke and it was a nice feeling getting rid of the Def. Mine put me into limp mode in Swift Current on a long weekend and I believe it was 8km. Had to leave the truck and rent a car to get to my destination.

I bought my 08 dodge with the full delete done from an older neighbor a little over 2 years ago running the bully dog “performance tune” & sometimes stock tune if the roads are slick for most trips, I use the tow tune when towing anything more than my 2 place open trailer. About 40k Kms and no issues. I’m not real hard on it either but the performance tune doing the speed limit gets me great mpg.

heres my take

I have a 2016 with a bully dog and thought in ran / runs good

also have a 2013 with a bully and again thought it ran / runs good, always hearing good about ccs custom tunes so i thought i would give it a try, well i pulled the bully out and put in the ccs and can not believe the difference. Runs cleaner, more responsive all around no competition.

So far super impressed with ccs just a bit more cash.
