So I have a real dilemma. I sold my 14 pro rmk and I am looking at 2 sleds. One is a very clean 2016 axys 163 with a mtntk turbo for 8000 with 1600 miles and the other a bone stock 2018 mountain cat 162 for 8500 that has 1100 miles. Would love a turbo sled but I have not rode either chassis and worry about the axys engine a little. The turbo on the axys is a 91 octane pump gas setup. Just looking for some opinions

Well u got to ask yourself u feeling lucky. Haha. U need a turbo or just want one? I would say if u thinking stock or turbo i would go stock. If u want to go to the top of the big hills than u need a turbo. But get ready for troubles. Good luck

Why is that? I have heard nothing but good about the mtntk kit. Most say it is pull and go.

Most who say they pull and go do 3 trips a year. Unless your good at wrenching a turbo might not be for you. If your like me and go revy,Edmonton, revy,Edmonton revy,Edmonton and work in between for a couple days wrenching is tough. I run 2 stock sleds and still borrow sleds from friends when they both go down.

Well that makes it easy.... you ride a 850 and a cat???

ha ha ha, just jokes.

but for what it is worth my mtntk turbo has a ton of miles on it set at 10lbs and is no more finicky than my kids 380f... just saying.

Turbo 100%. I spent all last year on a turbo and I will never go back. It's not a MNTEK, but a BD, but they run amazing on pump gas with the AXYS and no they are not just for hill climbing. These set ups work amazing in the trees as well. Anyone that tells you differently has never ridden a 6LB setup at elevation. They are a great way to get HP back at elevation and give a little more.

What is wrong with your sleds? You must ride them very hard. I put 1200 miles on my m8 with the slp stage 3 kit and never touched it. Never. Yes I am a mechanic and wrenching on sleds is simple.

Nothing wrong with my sleds. I start each season on new ones. But **** happens. Like my belt eating 850.

After talking to chris at parkland motorsports I decided to buy the turbo. He has installed over 60 kits with no issues and I talked to many others that loved there turbo axys. I am going to have Sean at mtntk go through it this fall and make sure everything is ready to go.

I have both a turbo 2016 Axys and and Turbo 18 Mountain Cat. Not once has my turbo sled ever let me down on the hill the new turbo kits are leaps and bounds above the old ones. In my opinion the axys creates more track speed then the cat but the cat comes out of the snow better. Both never leave me without a smile on my face. Both are boondocker kits setup from Brent Linderman
