These are probably the same quads and sleds that were on a flat deck trailer being pulled behind a browny grey f350 that rammed the cops near brooks a few nights ago. Heard it on my scanner. Stupid cops in this town couldn't keep up on the gravel so called off the chase.

Are you kidding me??? If the cops make grand theft a dangerous game, the slime buckets will hopefully get the point when they are nursing holes made by .40 S&W...... At least have tracking bullets or something, tag the truck and trailer a few times and track it from space......

But i can say one thing, I am eternally grateful for the solid response made by the Calgary Police Service with recovering my sled and then going on to busting those 4 guys back in May. Grand theft in the south dropped by 80 percent!

This is why crime pays. Cops are weak in the knees. No excuse for this.

Nope pretty sad that a truck hauling 2 quads and 2 sleds can outrun a f-150 cop truck. Especially that it was still wet from rain so dust was not an issue. I was so pissed listening to the stupidity of these guys. Not one of them had any knowledge of the roads they were on which is crazy in these rural area.

I just dont get it, with the guys right in front of you and pulling a trailer they call it off. The thieves must be laughing there butt off at us, Now a bunch more guys are going to go through the same deal and stress as these guys stock the shelves,

educate yourselves. Stolen property isn't a pursuitable offence. Risk the general public for a stolen truck and a couple stolen sleds? Last I checked if you this kind of justice or policies from your police department move south of this border.

What if these a holes went straight to whitecourt and steal your stuff. I sure hope you or your family don't catch them in the act and they harm you in the process. That would be sad knowing they could have been stopped in The middle of nowhere.

Speaking like that, you could be part of the problem.

Or if high speed pursuits are dangerous, then tail from a reasonable distance, call other detachments to create a blockade or follow them until they ditch the truck and run. It really doesnt take much for thieves to bail on their score. There are tonnes of stories on this kind of behaviour. Giving up because its dangerous is nonsense, but yes endangering police or the public with vehicular mayhem and gun fire is obviously not worth it.

Letting the crooks off so easy will just enbolden them, either give chase and put em behind bars or dont bother, 50 percent will just make them smile and laugh. I know there are alot of new officers from other countries, but its no excuse to not have people used to the backroads.

The bulk of crime in Canada, really when you compare to other countries, is tame. We dont have the drug cults of Mexico, the gang bangers in the USA and the terrorists of other countries to face with every day, so weak sauce excuses to not recover stolen property doesnt cut it any more. If the cops didnt go after my sled, it would have been lost for good, crime isnt insurance's direct problem, its the police first and formost when bad things happen and then when efforts are exhausted, then you call in the insurance companies to replace your stuff. Of course, serious terrible crimes such as murder are always horrific to all those involved, so my heart goes out to all affected by that. The cops that work hard to recover peoples stuff have my upmost respect and thanks.

Plus, this is Brooks. Not like you need to be very close to keep them in view. I mean, you can see the curvature of the earth there. Its flatter than Saskatchewan.

Lived in Brooks for 10 years. Good town, met my wife there.

Whoooooole lotta big talkers on here. Lol. You all realize that if you even lay a FINGER on those thieves, you'll go to prison MUCH faster than they will for talking your toys.

I'd also like to say that I'd use the baseball bat that I keep beside my bed, but in reality..... HIGHLY unlikely.
