Daughter shot her first deer today. One super happy child and dad dang happy to!
30 yards out of tree stand with 270 Weatherby, no tracking required.
Walked home a half mile for the truck and about 200 yds before the deer we had to wait for the cow elk to get off the trail.......no bulls but neighbor got one last week so they be around.

Also cougar tracks 1/4 mile from yard on elk trail.
With one comes the other.

Six geese and a white tail - she still has an elk tag and one more trip out to farm.

Living life at the Lake!
As well my daughter got her first whitetail deer Saturday as well, I have had her out for 3 afternoon hunts and no luck so we did a early morning hunt Saturday. She spent some good time at the gun range and it sure helped her get used to shooting. She had her first taste of buck fever as she could not even pull the trigger on the first smaller buck about 20 mins before this on came out. She was one happy girl!

Haha, my daughter had the shakes pretty good also, good thing it was a close shot.
She said white tails way more fun than geese. Used grunt tube and stopped the deer three times before she shot.
Petty sure she has texted all of her friends.

Rattled this guy in tonight to about 35 yards. Perfect double lung with my TC Omega Z5 muzzle loader. First deer with a black powder rifle and first deer I have ever successfully rattled in.

The whitetails were nothing special. I got a pic of the muley, but she split open.. Not a good one to put on the net.
