That's awesome man. I paid more for my 3500 SLT back in 2006. If I wasn't in the midst of building a new shop, I'd look hard into getting one.

Lets see the pics. I am looking for a truck but don't want to pay 65,000 for the same level truck I have in another 1 ton diesel

a platinum is the highest package though

That's why I was saying yikes. He would've paid $64,000 for the Western Edition when he could've got into a Platinum for $64,000. Sounds like the OP did good though. :thumbsup2:

Love my 6.7L Diesel, no issues and decent fuel milage for a big truck. The old ladies POS jeep wrangler gets nearly the same milage I do. Mind you it does have a little lift.

PD $66K for my Platinum when they came out in 2013. I dont think I would be paying $64K for a lower model. As someone else mentioned get the F350 so you have additional payload even if that package doesnt come in the one ton. You requirements might change and it could save you trading up to a 1 ton at a later date.

Funny you mention the fuel mileage. Even with the lift and big rubber it's still better on fuel than my CTS V. :(

Front - 2170kg
Rear - 1450kg
Total - 3620kg or 7964lbs

GVW - 4491kg or 9900lbs

Payload - 871kg or 1936lbs

Really? You scaled your truck and got 80 lbs less.

If that is true I am gonna buy a 2015 f150 and run a deck on it.
With it being 600lbs lighter that should all result in more payload.

Nope. But the ops rated payload capacity is only 1936 lbs. Mine is 1844 lbs to be exact. You can't legally carry hardly anymore weight on the truck than I can. The gas engine Super Duties are a lot higher. It's just the way it is. Hell you can get the goofy 7 lug F150's if you want too and get an 8200 lb gvw and depending on the truck bump that payload capacity to around 2200 lbs.

These big heavy trucks they build nowdays are nice. .. are rated to tow a house... but because of their own sheer weight and low gvw can't legally haul anything... including trailer tongue weight. Most max tow 1/2 tons fall into the same category. Take my F150 FX4. .. rated to pull 11000 lbs... great. My payload capacity legally is like 1380 lbs... so trailer hitch weight alone on an 11000 lb trailer will put me to capacity.... with no driver lol. It's all a game.

^^^ very well said.
To add the least optioned truck hauls the most.
Regular cab plain optioned truck will haul the most . (Legally)
For every thing added it subtracts from payload.
A few years ago i weighed to exact F350's.
One gas and one Diesel.
The gas could haul more due to the 300lbs weight difference 's in the trucks them selves.

And the sad thing here is that 3/4 in this thread is not loaded compared to my 1/2 ton. He is a crew cab though which makes a large difference. But take that same 1936 lb payload truck and add a sunroof, heated and cooled seats, navigation, etc. Make it a King Ranch or something. Then what.. you can haul 1400 lbs? It's silly really. Way heavier truck, bigger brakes, bigger frame, heavier springs.... and still no legal capacity.

No legal capacity but much better and safer performance in the real world. Plus the truck nazis will not pay attention to an F250 or 350 hauling the max weight for a 150. It's often about appearance.

I knew it would be low with a 250, that's why I suggested a 350 earlier in the thread. My payload sticker says 3450lbs of payload and mine is a Lariat.

So you will be good for about 2-1800 lbs?
