Just curious with the new body will the ford insurance premiums be higher? Interesting I went for latest and greatest on my sled and this year bought the 2014 Ford in july. Nice to hear that the 2015 is a perky fun to drive truck but I guess that is reflected in the cost. Where you under hard acceleration over any of these economy tests. My numbers on 11 eco and 14 5.0 are 12.9 and 14 respectfully.
Yup I did some hard acceleration in music tests, no smoking the tires though as I have too much respect for someone else's trucks. Glad to see the insurance premium is the same. I think it's too soon for the insurance companies to evaluate the repair costs.

I have a 14 eco and when pullin my 3 place enclosed sled trailer I get around 22l/100 at 110 0n hwy. Trailer weighs around 5500 lbs with 3 sleds and the eco pulls it effortlessly. Empty I get around 13/100 combined city/hwy. Not what the mfg claims but I am very happy so far with my eco. Only just passed 11k so hopefully as it gets more k on it mileage will improve a little. I would think that the 15 being lighter it would get better mileage than my 14. Looks of any vehicle are down to personal preference. I like the new style. Just my 2 cents.

What numbers are you seeing with your 6.2?
Is it the 6spd trans or the 8 spd?

2014 so 6 speed
Empty cruising at 115 -118 Warm weather 12.2L -12.8L
Colder weather it jumps to 13.4 - 13.6
It's the best one I have had to date for a gas with the bigger hp.

8sp now available...I guess its new for 15', I would think those numbers may be better yet with an 8 speed?

what changed in the shocks?

Magnetic ride control that is tied right into ECM .
Have to replace with same shocks and they are not cheap.
Nice ride though but for me on some gravel roads I didn't want.

Yes that is correct and when I bought mine the price point was the same for the 2014 Denali as the 2015 SLT.
That's all I was wanting also because IMO the Denali is a waste of $.
Nice trucks though.

What's the big deal about repairs.
My buddy repairs jet boats all the time and not a big deal .
Pulls out, cuts out , re- welds parts back in then preps and paints .
Good as new.

Yeah it's not like aluminum is some just discovered material. It's been around a while lol. And at least after repairs they could guarantee no rust. Got a quote the other day for 2800 bucks to fix my dodges box, but he said the little bit of rust that started where the paint chipped will most likely be back within a year. Nice to not have to worry with aluminum.

LOL. No body shop I have ever been in has any aluminum welding equipment. The panels that aren't bolted on are rivited together. And welded. HUGE costs to a shop to have this equipment. I sure as hell wouldn't buy one Jmo

Are you sure they weld these aluminum bodies? My impression was that they are mostly glued.

Lots of imports have had aluminum bodies for years. And most domestics have had aluminum hoods, trunk lids, rear hatches etc for years as well. They all get repaired and painted. Amazing how something new seems to get people in a tizzy. Give it some time and it will be the norm.

Are you referring to the Porsches that require a Porsche employee from one of the big city offices to fly across the country to inspect the work after any little repair job? Great system, that.

The riveter alone is a ridiculous cost. 10-$12,000. !!!
. I am going to a aluminum course this week. I will report back with some info for you all.
