Not sure if you tried this trick or not. But if you turn the skis around and throw the sled on the back of the tunnel of the tow sled. Kinda like a sled 69. It's crazy how good this works for climbing hills. Only downfall is it's very hard on the tunnel of the one sled. Last time we did this was with 99 summits. Sleds were built a lot stronger back then. Price of a tunnel on your buddies sled will be the same price as a chopper. I've had to pay for a chopper before it sucks. Hope you get it out.

Seen a guy do this before and write off the tow sled. Tunnel completely collapsed in the rear. Wouldn't recommend this.

We found him Saturday morning. Face all smashed in. Tuff old bugger. 70 years old. Went over the cliff and dropped prob 200ft.
No real gear. Lego helmet. Walked to the top of cliff in crazy deep snow. I give him credit.
Called sar. Thanks to buddy with the sat phone.
Chopper came took him away back to his truck to meet rest of his crew.

Then we salayed epic pow till we ran out of fuel. Lol

Yes that was the case here. I guess his crew from what I hear searched till 11 pm and couldn't find him and had to leave the hill to contact sar.

Very lucky to be a warmer clear night and not pouring rain like it was a few km away in blue river.

I hear of people too often flying off that cliff.

Is there any way to put up some reflective vertical poles along that drop off?

Food for thought.

Edit: I looked on google earth, and it is quite a long stretch to put warnings..Didn't realize it was so lengthly.

Spent the day in Keyhole. Didn't go too far, was pretty socked in at times. Found our usual sweet spots and I almost think we were the first to get in there this season.

Just wanted to say that we found a pair of prescription glasses in a case, screwdriver, and an empty wallet on the trail to Keyhole.

If anyone has lost it, they can PM me.

been riding in keyhole since third weekend in December. Good to hear it appears filled in again as it was pounded right out 2 weeks ago the last I rode in there.

Thx for the offer terry, since we were staying in blue I just decided to rent one from digger as it was across the street.

Couldn't have went smoother today, was a pretty flawless recovery. The snow had set up quite a bit from the day before and thankfully the trail was a highway as well

Ya had to do this with my 09 m8 that I wrote off up up there years ago. Worked great but the guy had an old rev he didn't give 2 ****s about. These newer tunnels, don't think I'd chance it

Why not a large sign at the beginning of the trail with a warning?

sorry but this is crazy to me. know where you go plain and simple this is the big backcountry folks cant be putting signs up at every cliff or dropoff. if you are unfamiliar with an area you should hire a guide to show you the area or be riding with a crew that knows it well. and if your not going to do either of those then tread extremely light. especially in bad visibility. if you are bombing around carelessly in bad visibility in an unfamiliar riding area signs arent going to help you. that cliff band is 6 kilometers long and is no different from any other cliff band at any other riding area. im not saying its a bad idea but it just screams that we are taking a big step back in self education having to start doing things like that.

green line is cliff band.....so half the area you could fall off at any one of those points. its 9km long not 6 i forgot to add the backside
