2.86 x 61 = 174.46.. hmmm maybe but I would put money on the 3.0 pitch...

It would be more cost effective for doo to use different drivers instead of paying Camoplast to re-design the track moulds. for what.. one application?. The smaller the pitch, the heavier the track remember..

Look at the current 2.86 pitch 2.5" track skidoo uses. It looks nothin like the camoplast 2.5" extreme. It's hollow lug flex edge. Only difference being it's used across the entire summit line so more made I suppose

You would never fit an 8 tooth 3.0 pitch in an XP/XM... not with a 3" lug...

I had a 7 tooth 3.00 pitch 162 in my ol' REV, it had WAHL drivers and was JUNK! I put in AVID's and it was sweet..

True however The skidoos with 7 tooth drivers vibrate excessively and make a lot of noise. I just can't see them slapping 7 tooth drivers on and calling it good. It is an extremely tight fit with the 7 tooths doesn't seem like something the factory would do. But again just guessin. I suppose it could be an 8 tooth 3.0 pitch to keep the weight down who knows

They could go 8x3 but that would require a significant drop and roll and that would change the handling dynamics of the sled.

Part of the vibration issue with 7th is the design of the drivers. Doo could easily design a driver that would be smoother. Doo has always had good driver designs.

My Pro has a 174x2.5 and 7thx3 and does not vibrate at all.

Ok we will see Tuesday I guess lol. I would not purchase a summit with 7 tooth drivers and a 3" track. I've had many of them and it's a cheap way of getting a 3" track in your sled basically

How much is significant? Do you know the difference in diameter from the 7 to the 8 tooth? I don't...

Correct because the driver diameter of a 8th-3" pitch is bigger than a 8-2.86"pitch.... If they made a 3" lug track with 2.86" pitch it may fit... If anything they could do a 2.75" height lug on 2.86"pitch

The diameter diffrence between 8th-2.86" to 7th-3" is about a 1/4" smaller. I think it is listed on avids site.

7 x 3 =21

8 x 3 = 24

7 x 2.86 = 20.02

8 x 2.86 = 22.88

simple geometry.

Diameter would be c= 3.14 x diameter.. easy math..

Ok so a half inch drop and roll and you could squeeze 8 tooth 2.86 3" with ease. Interesting common Tuesday lol

In the catalogue picture, if it goes in order there is a model above the x in the summit series but is cut off in the pic? Im hoping theres some kind of power bump for a 174 3"

I think the model on the left is going to be a Summit X 3", definitely in 174 and maybe in 163, but still with the 800 (the blown up pic of the 174x3 sled shows the 800 decal).

Interesting how Doo has had more leaks than any of the other 3 manufacturers this year for 2015 launch.

Ya never said it was hard but that doesn't mean I want to do it hahaha. Does that apply to the avids that are square and vibrate your teeth out LOL

I'm not holding my breath here but if the list is consistent, the 174" 3" yellow summit will be an xrs model and because the motor option is cut off, there is a chance it could have a 1200 4tec. If you notice there are a lot of 1200s throughout the line up in that photo.
