All this from a photo? Catmaha. What percentage of their sales are mountain sleds? Seems guys out here forget that the centre of the snowmobiling universe is not mountainous. Yamaha would probably be better off concentrating on the flatland/crossover sled. That is where their strength and sales volume lie.
Isn't the mountain sled class turning into the best selling sled class in the industry? Would make sense for Yamaha to do some catching up in the mountain sled market. The Viper does seem to be their big reveal. I wonder if the GYTR on the side of that sled in the pic have some importance. That X plane triple is a good guess.

The mountain sled class is something like 5% of overall snowmobile sales from articles I've read over the years. The GYTR stands for Genuine Yamaha Technology Racing, a Yamaha sub-brand if you will for many years now. :)

not sure if it was mentioned.... but wasnt the original vipers trail sleds.... just saying.

Yup, trail sleds, probably won't see any mountain stuff untill next year from Yamaha unless they use that chassis(pro climb) and go all out...... just like BRP's new trail sleds coming out......

I look forward to swinging a leg over it. Cant imagine making the their bullet proof engines any better but good for them if they do. Any sled shop dealing in Yamaha performance should be happy. New sled sales, performance mods and money spent.

I have my doubts about a supercharger or even a turbo. I'm expecting the cross plane triple that they put in their bikes for 2013.
