I'm looking for help as to what upgrades i should do to my new sled. I have around $2000.00 to put into it want to know what some of the essentials are. I spoke to my dealer about a few ideas and he tells me to ride it just the way it comes.

Here's a small list that i have put together...for the most part all accessories are off the BMP website:

BMP 800 E-TEC Performance Manifold $189.95
BMP 800 E-TEC Full Velocity Muffler $249.95
BMP E-TEC Muffler Sensor Adaptor $39.95
Cory Micku Steep N Deep E-TEC 800 Clutch Kit $299.95
Boyesen Ski-doo Rage Cages $305.95
*** All the above come in a kit for $1095.00 ***
V-Force 3 Reed Valves $235.00
BMP 800 E-TEC High Altitude Single Pipe $449.95
Oil Sleeve $19.95
Power Commander 5 for 800 E-TEC $459.95

Other questions i have:
Ice Scratchers - Do they hold up with hard riding?
Front Bumper - Is their a better one then the stock one? If so what brand?
Full Body Skid Plate - Do you use one? If so what brand?
Vent Kit for Side Panels - Do they make a difference?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I wouldnt do any of the things you have listed. Either ride it stock, or if you are going to do anything........HPS can, roosterbuilt clutch kit, and a vent kit. Be well under your 2k budget, and definitely the best bang for your buck IMHO.

Forget the pipes and reeds

Imo:
Clutch kit. (DJ or other)
Grip n rip braces
Skid plate
Clutch tools

If you really want to spend money upgrade your shocks.

I use a full body skid plate from brp. Cheap and super tough. But...it does catch a lot of snow and ice. I bought it cause we ride over prairie scrub brush all the time. For for dedicated mounyain riding id likely have bought the brp extreme skid plate.

Grip n rip braces
Racers edge drop bracket reinforcements
Roosterbuilt clutch kit
HPS can
Scratchers are a must and yes the hold up

That's what I would do if I was you. Don't waste your money on a DJ clutch kit unless you plan on going trail riding all the time. That's about all his stuff is good for

Rooster Built: (253) 333-8533

Rooster Built is the only thing I have done to my XM. Next upgrade would be $2000 in Raptor shocks, but that would put you at about $2400 total.

Really? I would love to hear an explanation on this one. And im not being defensive, just really want to know the reason you think his kit is no good for mountain and deep riding.

Its just that DJ seems to be the most popular guy in the mountain section of Dootalk.com and his Summit kits are quite different than his Mxz kits.

Truth be told i feel my DJ Summit kit leaves 'some' to be desired on the trail, but trail clutching wasnt my goal.

I had his stuff on my 860 and tried to make it work for about 500kms. Rpm fade was a consistent 600rpm on a 1000m pull. Tried to talk to him several times about it and he wouldn't return calls and when I did by chance reach him he was no help at all. My sled would get walked on by 800's any day, any snow condition, any rider on either sled.
I called roosterbuilt and talked to them about what was happening with my sled. After a long discussion with them I bought their kit. First trip out my sled held 8200rpm all the time. It was like having an extra 75hp.
I will never again be fooled by Dootalk.com and buy mountain sled stuff from a guy who is a trail rider from Thunder Bay and comes out west the odd trip. My money will be going to mountain sledders who build stuff for mountain sledders.

I to had a DJ clutch kit in my summit and wasn't all that happy. I clutch it the way he said and buy the time I was done the only part of his kit I had left in was the adjustable pins.

The Cory Micku steep and deep clutch kit works awesome just get that instead of the rooster built.... first take the 2g down to the casino. put it on black. Do that twice then go get a turbo.
