I care because I am a Canadian National and I am proud of Canadian innovation. Think you'd be sitting hear Yacking on the internet today without a subsidy or 2 along the way to the telecommunications industry?LOL

BRP makes a hell of a good sled. When your parrent company manufactures jet planes rather than piano's the sled innovation comes easy...lol

I think a company that makes Motorcycles would do a better job of making sleds than one who makes Jet Planes. Very little transfers over from a jet to a sled...

Just gotta wonder though.....if Bombardier did not receive billions is federal aide (which you cannot argue has made them stronger), would they have been able to acquire other competitive companies along the way like Motoski, Evinrude, etc or would it have been the other way around?

Just think, if it werent for Trudeau...bailing out Bombardier, maybe you could have been part of the MotoSki Squadron today.....lol

Then in comparison, what's wrong with the feds funnelling billions into CBC to prop them up so they can compete with other stations??

I do think that sometimes, govt help is necessary. But you really should read into how much help Bombardier got over the years. Aide that was viewed as unfair by many other companies in other parts of Canada. Yes, today Bombardier is quite a success and a strong Canadian corporation.....but what if.... what if the feds said "no" to the Billions of free aide?

And for someone to make a blank statement that "people have always been buying skidoo and always wil"l is kinda dumb. If Bombardier didn't get billions.....skidoo may have gone the way of other sled companies......
Scorpion was one of Wisconson's largest companies in their prime......but gone today......no bailout money there.

So the next time, you doo-aide drinkers start bad mouthin GM and Dodge for getting federal money to stay afloat......take a moment and reflect where BRP would be today without the bailouts.

I dont have a problem with the CBC, most countries have a public broadcasting system.

Some indusrties(globally not just in Canada) need subsidies and gonvenment involvement to work.Like Communnication,Energy,Farming and Aviation to just to name a few. They are important,heavily regulated industries that are joint private&public enterprises, thats why they recieve finacial help.

I dont have a problem with GM or Dodge bailout ither(in Canada) The US is basically bankrupt right now. But thats another can of worm...
