They gave us the best chassis on the mountain three years ago and it's still the best chassis. When are they going to give us a damn engine that's worthy of the Pro chassis ??? Poo has had plenty of fuggin' time to design and build a new engine or, if they're not capable, farm it out !! They've been patching this engine since 2008 !

LOL !! Honestly, I absolutely love my '12 Pro and wasn't looking for a new sled, thankfully. As much as I love the chassis, I know I could get comfy on an XM very quickly after riding one earlier this season. Glad I don't have to make that choice for next season. I still have to ask.....When the hell is Poo gonna build an engine worthy of the Pro chassis ???

Suzuki won't work... isn't Cat is soon to drop them, I think because of them not meeting 2 stroke emissions?

Time for poo to get onboard and strike a deal with Mercury outboards' technology.

Completely agree. It was going to take a new motor to make me seriously think about snowchecking this spring. This release made the decision to keep my '12 easy as well. Kmod skid and Raptors all around for this guy for next year. Also looking at Indy Dan's long rod conversion. Might as well keep this thing for a while.

Well a fix kit and a head will increase reliability and give you a little extra power. Set you back $1000 same amount as if they tweaked the engine about on the 2014. Spend another $500 for a can and now you have a 2014 that's lighter, more powerful and reliable than other years.

Would that make people happy?

spend thousands to buy a 2014 and then spend at least $1500 to make it reliable? Too bad they're patching, rather than address some of the true problems!! :(

I'm not putting a "fix" kit or head on a new sled that's going to void the warranty. My warranty is up on my '12 in the fall, so that's why I'm considering the long rod conversion. I find it hilarious we even have to think about engine mods on a brand new sled to ensure longevity and durability.

a can on the pro??? cause its about $100 a lb for a noisy can. Wouldnt waste my time for 3 lbs loss and more noise

I wonder of someone at the release party tipped a sled on it's side and took a pic of the driveshaft..

I find it hilarious that so many people have validated it as being ok to market a product with these issues, especially when there are other manufacturers that are reliable right out of the box. It's even better that so many of these same people went through the Dragon 800 fiasco and still didn't switch manufacturers.

A lot of people would make a big deal if if the 2014 came out 3-5lbs lighter. It would increase the flickability lol.

Ever manufacture puts out sleds that had an issue or two. So drive shafts break on what 500 out of 10,000 sleds? How many doo or cats have issues for every 10,000 sleds manufactured?

I got into sledding just a couple years ago, so I didn't experience it first hand. But I have never been able to figure out how the 2011 Pro 800 was the best selling sled, period. Who was crazy enough to buy a Polaris 800 after all of the 800 and 900 problems in 08, 09, and 10? Apparently a lot of people. I'm not saying they didn't improve the reliability for 11, but customers had no way of knowing it would be any better than the previous years.
