Just lost the rad on a ‘15 with 90k on the clock. No warranty expressed or implied from Ford.

After 60,000 kms ford will not help with this issue...it’s a joke! I’ve changed more rads on my truck then I have brake pads. 20,000kms on my mishimoto all aluminum rad so far. Hoping this one will last.170k and I’m on my 4th rad

Probably depends on what extended warranty package you purchased. This issue should be a recall from ford in my opinion.

2014 F350 here. I had a rad go at 150,000 k, had it replaced with the brand name "Performance" as recommended by NADP. They said they won't install the Mushimoto's anymore as they've had nothing but problems with them for the last couple years. At 200k no and no issues with it yet.

Mine was leaking where the plastic is crimped to the metal.

Just blew a turbo at 200k, cost $5k to replace! Ouch. My turbo main shaft cracked in two. I was told it happened because the defuel on my bullydog wasn't set properly and I put too much power through. I guess the GT32 that Ford puts in these is only rated for 32 PSI and the bullydog can get it higher than that. Just a tip for all that are deleted, set your defuel on your boost at 28 to 30 psi to avoid this.

I wonder what problems they have been having with the mushimoto rads ....reason I went that way cause they are fully aluminum and not crimped together. They didn’t happen to say what issues they were having with them did they ?

Honestly at anything over 26psi you are on borrowed time with these turbos, stock they run 21psi and even at that they are being pushed pretty hard with turbo failures being fairly common. The 2011-14 turbos are extremely undersized, but had to be to run the gimmicky dual sided compressor wheel to achieve quick spool up, but is also the reason for higher failure rates. To rectify this ford upgraded to a GT37 sized turbo with a conventional compressor wheel for 2015.

What setting are you running on your bully dog? In performance on my 2012 i only get to 22-24 psi...

The rads never last in these trucks due to the chassis flexing so much... I'm on my third factory style.

I had an 11 and traded it with 340,000 on it and never had one issue with the rad. Had an air leak under boost that no one could find but ford replaced the exhaust manifold and turbo and one of the boost pipes all under extended warranty at 260,000. My 16 so far has been flawless again and I’m at almost 170,000 now. Going to run this truck to death though so I’m hoping for at least 500,000 out of it. I wish I would have kept the 11 as it was still a super solid truck.

No, they didn't say, I didn't really ask either though. They just said they stopped installing them cause it's costing them too much to replace them when they quit. Give them a call, I find they're pretty helpful with sharing information.

Well now that I'm on a new turbo I just keep it on tow mode but I was running at it performance most of the time. I used extreme when it was brand new just to check it out but maybe got a total of 4-5km on that mode.

Always been the passenger side that it leaks from. This is rad number 4 gone with 178,000 kms on truck. Don’t even know what to do with it anymore.

It's the weak open channel frames that they use. Too much flex. The Chevy and the Dodge are a boxed in frame that stays ridged. The frame flex is part of the Ford suspension. ( Classic ford to do that). I believe the new ones are boxed in now with revised front springs and arms. Friends of mine that use there personnel F-350's in the oilfield have had similar leaky rad issues also. My F-550 has 260 000 km's all on bad oilfield roads and still original rad. The frame rails on the F-450 and 550's are wider apart and much heavier built crossmembers. Sell the truck or keep putting rads in it.

Someone should make a rad with more movement in the mounts. Pretty sure this is a very common issue for years now.

test the rad pressure when its running, maybe its higher than normal

could be causing your issues

If you're getting combustion pressure into the cooling system you would know it....it's more to do with ford's ****ty rad mount design.

EGR cooler

System coolant pressure is higher than the exhaust passing through the EGR cooler. So no.... all that end up happening if EGR has a leak is engine ends up ingesting coolant throught the intake and makes the best smoke screen (ever)! I've lost track on how many fords I've seen do that on the hiway.
