Thanks for the info. I will try it once and start the changes.
Last years etecs with my clutching PLUS a primary shim kit with 163 x 2.5 tracks all ran 21/45 gearing. No pipe,no reeds just a can. Personally i think your waisting your money by installing a 3".
Deano
i am running the 23/49 in mine, 3" track, 2mm oversize rollers and pin weight. i can vouch that the gearing works in all conditions.

So since i'm going up to a 163 from a 154 on my 09, whats the ideal setup?
After some testing im now also a fan of 23/49
BRP keep gearing down to bandaid their inefficient clutch system, i think.. i like the 2.15/ 2.25 ratio and for boosted sleds i like 2.05 ish thats geared very low already..the sled is in way to low of a gear when cruising the trail to get anywhere!! reving too high i found.
21/59?The XM runs 21/59 ( 2.81 )gearing? Poo runs 20/42 ( 2.1 ) maybe it's true that the Poo clutch squeezes the belt harder to be able to run way higher gearing.
