Was out sledding today and the kids 800 died. Looking for any easy solutions to look at as I don’t want to rip it apart til I get back to my garage. It stalled a couple times (literally 2 times) in the past 2 days when put into reverse but would start back up easy then today he pulled up to us and it died and couldn’t get it started. We replaced plugs 3 rides ago any easy ideas to check til I can get back to my garage thanks for any info. Not sure if it needs a top end. Has 3500 km on it but when pulling it over feels like there is compression. Has new fuel aswell. Thanks for any info

Just went down to check it out. Pretty tight in trailer right now but it seems really hard to pull over. Way harder than normal

Well took panels off one spark plug was very loose in there and covered in oil. Not getting any spark from plug. Would that situation cause it to foul. Working on trying to remove the other before I head to Kamloops could a loose plug screw the top end?

Yeah just check the plugs I’ve good spark but really hard to pull over. Seems really stiff can’t get a proper full pull on it.

Thanks for all your ideas and help. Thinking it’s more involved than I can fix while out here. Gonna have to tear it apart when back at my garage:)

The recoil bolts back out and the heads break off then get sucked into the stator magnet as well as the magnet sliding out of the stator cutting the wires. if you haven't, after you fix this issue, pull the recoil and change the bolts out to new with loctite.

you were able to pull it over enough to see spark on both plugs? but its too tight to pull all the way out?

Yup was able to pull it over enough to see spark. Pulling it over without plugs in even felt tighter that it should. Then when I put plugs back in. Couldn’t get a normal full pull when trying to start but it would extend to where it should if I pulled it out slowly if that makes sense. Nothing like hoping it’s something simple but starting to think that’s not my luck lol

I broke my rope one time as my sled started, and decided to continue to ride it cause it was already running , proceeded to ride for the rest of the day off the clutch roppin skills( 2005 rev 800 ho) recoil had stuck to starting cup while I was riding due to the rope not holding it anymore, after a while and a couple rpm it melted and all the crap rolled Around and took out my stator pickups. Took a while to diagnose that! Haha fugh
