Hey Guys,

I've lined up what I think is a very good deal on a Maverick. Has all the options I want and got the price under $10k. Has 3000kms on it but is clean, barely even a scratch on it. Looks like it has been well serviced and taken care of. Any advice for a first time side by side buyer? Maybe someone here might know of something I am not thinking of ans should ask about before pulling the trigger.

And yes I will be pulling the vin off and getting it checked prior to buying.

Cheers,
Tyler

Get something with power steering. Very important. If you want to know where it has been have them pull off the covers to the engine and look inside the air box. If you are unsure pay to have it inspected by a dealer.

Yes to power steering but that can be installed aftermarket yourself.
The shocks will need to be redone probably but if it's that clean and hasn't been swamped they are a good machine.
I have a 2013 as well and installed the power steering as soon as I purchased it.
Good luck

Yes you can add power steering, just remember it is another expense. $500-$1000 just for the kit depending on what deal you can find.

The 13 mavs seem to have had some issues ... I have been told . There has been a lot of refinement & little upgrades since then it would appear .
I would pay close attention to the clutching and tightness of the various moving parts of suspension and driveline , in particular.
Motor should be strong, unless it has been sunk ..
That's a lot of machine for that $$,but a few major items to fix and it would be far from cheap consequently....
None the less , hope it works out well...

Definitely check the vin. Not sure if you seen that story floating around where the vin sticker had been fabbed with 1 number off and did not show up until they went to register it. Once compared with the frame vin stamp they found it was indeed a stolen sxs
