2011 Ram 2500 DPF deletes?

i realize that, but if you need to get any kind of flash updates the truck has to be put back to stock programming.

To me personally, that was and is a non-issue. My '07 ran so well and got such great fuel mileage after the deletes, that I just refused any "flashes". If it's working the way you want, decline the flashes. If you're one of the unfortunate few who has an issue, then, yes you may have to put it back to stock for repairs and flashes. I was lucky. In 185,000 km, my '07 never needed engine flashes or repairs. I hope my '11 is just as good to me.

So far on my 2011 3500 with the h&s mm i'm averaging 17.5 mpg according to the app I have on my blackberry that keeps track of all my fill ups and fuel mileage. Just hit around 6000kms

Trust me. I did all the deletes If u puke a head gasket or something else with the engine. They have to scan it and send the info to dodge Good dealer or not. Warranty will be void. I blew a tranny on my 2008 dodge they covered it. The codes from your programer will all show up on engine problems I you can't afford to pay for fixes don't do it. I have more $$$ than brains so I did it to my 2008 6.7. Ram. I pull a 14000 lb bumper hitched toy hauler. My 2011 super duty accelerates faster up hill than my dodge did on the flats. I would like better mileage though.

Edge...once removed no traces...simple concept since it doesnt re-write the ECM at all.

Until they look at max. torque values and your over spec. Not sure if the Dodge ECM or TCM stores this data but the D-Max does. The foot print does not necessarily need to be the tune but the results of it.

I agree they run better and will most likely last longer with better milage, just be sure you're willing before going in.

Dont give them a reason to look...but in regards to your post, I have never heard of this with Dodge. Not saying its not possible, just havent heard of it.

Not sure on Dodge either. But with GM anything related to the power train requires GM approval prior to starting warranty repairs. They want screen shots showing ECM data.. Then they inform whether or not repairs will be covered, the dealer does not have the final say here.

Not trying to say you shouldn't as my personal dmax is and I think it runs better, gets better milage and runs cleaner without all the extras. Just know that they will find the foot print if they are inclined or obligated to look.

All dealers have a 'principal', essentially an owner. He can pull a ton of strings in the warranty department, but also, every vehicle sold has an almost 'secret' stash of money allotted to it, approximately 10% that can be used towards 'goodwill' repairs outside of warranty. I have used this very seldom, but it is there. I have to admit my dealer has gone far outside of my expectations in numerous cases. This winter I dropped the tranny out of my Megacab, and limped the truck into the dealer, Edge installed, and Attitude stuck on the steering column. I was outside the kms on the tranny, but had a bunch of other work done at the same time, zero issues, but again, the dealer knows and is aware of what I have done to the truck and has approved it. Get to know your dealer, and service manager, talk to them about what you want to do, and paranoia goes away.

I believe that all service departments will allow you to do what ever you want to your vehicle after all it is YOUR vehicle but they are all at the mercy of the manufacturer when it comes to warranty repairs after all they have to be able to justify exactly how the repairs were warranty related.

If any mod made to your vehicle can be proven to to have either directly or indirectly harmed your vehicle thus requiring that repairs to your vehicle are required then said repairs will probably not be covered by your warranty regardless of what your service department has told you.

I am aware of two dealerships in the Edmonton area that have had their ratings lowered by their manufacturers because they performed repairs on modded vehicles and then claimed it under warranty. Now ALL of their warranty repairs have to be approved BEFORE the work is done.

Have a 2011 Ram diesel and was wondering who has done the deletes and which controller your using? Heard lots about H&S tuners and deletes. How did your milage fair after? I am getting about 10 MPG towing my trailer but only have 10k on my truck. Thanx for any help guys. Shad

Which version of the 2011 do you have? The 650 or 800 lbs ft of toque? I know nothing about the 800 but the 650 has had good results with the deletes. Friends of my did the delete fresh air intake and a smarty. Both doubled there milage while towing. As for warranty your ecm will store information to void the warranty the dealer needs to look for it or be asked to but it is there. That being said if you dont overload and rat bag it you probally wont have any issues. I would install a pyrometer for sure though. good luck

Thanx Troy, love the truck, but do lots of hauling as you know, would like the mileage to be better. I am going to try to leave the shop this summer and go to Vancouver Island with the family and will be pulling my enclosed for 2 weeks. I am not the guy that needs to double the power, thats for my sled, but a little more on the tow mode would be cool. Shad
