I searched around a bit, and didn't really come across anything on this.

I just went to pull my M8 out of the trailer, and I couldn't get it to kick in to reverse. It worked last year when I backed it off the deck after the last ride. Pulled it in to the shop to fog the engine, and dollied it in to the trailer for the summer.

Push the button and nothing happens. I'm going to assume it's a wiring issue. Anyone seen this problem before? Anyone having a wiring diagram for these sleds?

My 2011 did that once after sitting in the garage all summer, I took apart the throttle piece, unplugged the reverse switch and cleaned it up, dielectric grease and back together, worked like a charm

That's where I plan on starting. Found awesome wiring diagrams on the country cat site.

Please post up your findings and if you solve this one. I just picked up an 11 and I noticed it takes a while to get it out of reverse. Assume the same issue as yours. Bad contacts in the switch may be a good starting place. I haven’t had a chance to look at mine yet

I'll let you know. Probably won't tear in to it until Friday night.

Engine idle speed my be factor here, I know its fuel injected but if to low it stalls if too high it won't switch to reverse mode... my experience anyway

Best thing I did on the ole m1000 was throw the reverse electric motor and harness in the garbage, made my own manual lever, welded it to the top of the gear arm mounted on the top of the diamond drive, made a small slot in the kick plate and plastic. Wish I had a picture of it still.

Worked like a charm. Eliminated the electronic crap, and the possibility of it slipping out of forward and blowing up the diamond drive.

You must have had an older M sled. The later ones had engine reverse.
