The first horse power numbers were released a 162.8 - however

According to Dynotech the 162.8 isn't the right number, it's 163.7, which peaks from 10,100-10,300, still making 163+ until 10,700 but torque falls off 4-5 lbs.

The 162.8 number came from a run with a sensor issue.

Great write up on the engine, there is a wealth of info on the site,
Check out Dynotech for the charts....worth the read...

And then go down to your favorite Yamaha Dealer an pick one up....:d:d:d

nice that they are finally releasing hp numbers....

but the nice thing is. you junk all the stk stuff for a tunnel and skid anyways. so you can save a few bucks buying a shorty. went from this.

Sure that can be done. Im really not sure what the middle mount turbo guys are going to do with the 11's apexs. Can the power steering be taken off? As the electric motor is right where the turbo & exhaust system will need to go. Or will have to buy older apex steering linkage? What about the fancy thing thats in the exhaust system, not sure what it does. I cant really see anybody buying the apex at 18g plus taxes, then buying tunnel, turbo, skid, track, seat, etc, etc. Bet that sled is siure going to be a great flatlander sled like they set out for it to be.

That attack angle is nasty. Does it trench in the January powder?

when ya do a build like a turbo. You actually lose weight. The stk tunnel we weighed was about 62lbs the after market one i had built was around 35lbs. Then factor in all the stuff like the lite weight seat, hood and stuff. I think it was around 75lb loss. Everyone thinks the turbo's are heavy. You should feel the weight of a stk yammie exhaust and seat. The seats made of lead i think. Lol

HAHAHAHA ya some of those stock parts wether two or four stroke weigh a ton!!! ya when you build the turbo sleds and heavy mods you lose lots of weight but a stock one could definately use a bit of a diet.

Ya it's amazing how much weight you save just with aftermarket drop brackets. We did a timbersled skid and drop brackets on my budies apex and it was huge.
