2011 / 2012 Valemount Info and Updates

Here's my morning observations from Valemount. Driving the guys out to the hills for a day of riding, there was hardly any trailers at Clemina, lots at Allen and lots at Chappel as well. The sun is out and its a blue bird day, just one icy stretch on the hwy but other than that it is good to. The guys are out riding Chappel today but watch the parking lot it is like a skating rink.. Well Im going to have a nap before I have to be back out there to pick the guys up with pizza and beer

Rode Allen Creek trail up was great thanks Varda. The Alpine was pretty wind blown but we still managed to get stuck and show a couple newbies a great time in the hills not sure were we are heading tomorrow possibly chappel.

Oasis today. Not much snow but there was about 8 inches in the trees

road allan today. about 2 feet where i wasplaying. little slim on the goatpath to be expected. trail is holding up nicely now with the cod weather

Rode Chappel today Beware of the ice in the parking lot extremely slippery. 8" of fresh snow in the parking lot this morning trail up was amazing so nice snow up top was great. Visibility wasn't the greatest snowed pretty well all day. Trail down was pretty ruff but defiantly worth the day. Thanks again Varda.

staying at the YORA ski cabin. Note if you ever plan on staying the night in the backcountry, please leave a note on your vehicle..............

Made it home last night from Valemount at 11:00pm. Rode clemina yesterday for a couple hours before we hit the highway trail up was amazing so smooth a joy to ride on. Snow in the alpine was a bit wind blown but there was pow to be found. Our group of 10 had an amazing weekend from the hospitality at the Bestwestern to the great trails provided by Varda. Trails were fantastic this weekend, some packed terrain if you wanted, some good snow if looked for easily

Had a great weekend in Valemount, the guys had some great riding. Saturday was a bit of an experience when they decided to take a little guy and his little 340 sled up into Westridge. It only took the guys 3 hours to get that little sled up there for him but once he was up he had a blast Note to self is next time take the little one to Clemina instead, less work for the guys.. lol
