I've bent two steering posts on my M8 and its getting expensive. Anyone having any trouble with this?? Is there anything to reinforce or aftermarket adjustable thats tougher than stock?

Any sudden stop that will put you over the handel bars will do it.

If you have a welder and a grinder you can easily reinforce the riser. If you take it out of the sled and grind off the welds on the bottom pipe that is your turn stopper, you can then pound a piece of pipe up the post past the point where they bend and then reweld the bottom piece back on. It took me less than an hour to do mine and it is very strong and inexpensive. Make sure you mark the bottom piece before you remove it so you insure that it goes on properly for the correct steering alignment. Good luck.

Not sure how pounding a pipe up the bottom would work. There is a factory bend in the post lower then were the post bends. So if you pound a pipe inside from the bottom up it will make it to the first factory bend and thats it.It bends just after the top clamp. The fix is take your bars off and just lay em down on tank(akk cables.etc still attached) and inside the adjustable part you can see all the way down to the factory bend.Get a steel rod the correct size that fits lower down in the post cut it to proper size.approx 5-6inches and insert it into the post.Im not sure what the size is of the rod.will post later on.But this fixes the issue.

I agree with the post, once you put it in, add epoxy to fill to the lowest position so that you can still use the telescopic post.

I remember how tight the steering was when I picked it up at the dealer. 250 miles later not so tight anymore and the handlebars look a little bent. But her name is still B at this point. She does not like to turn and I am getting a workout, and cussing a lot more.

Thanx on the BDX link. I need one of those.
