Didn't you guys hear that everytime a person purchases a BRP snowmobile they are flown to Valcourt for an all inclusive buyers party, this includes all you can drink Molson Ex, poutine and all the maple syrup you can handle. For the grand finally "The Man They Call Raveen" does a performance to hypnotize everyone into thinking they are riding the best and everyone else is inevitably getting towed back to the parking lot. Vive le skidoo.
I've seen every brand getting towed out at one time or another...ride what you like, instead of hatin' on other brands. what do you ride? I'm sure I can relate a horror story or two about it....

That is some funny stuff :d

This is the problem with posts like this, anything negative and you are bashing, truth is all sleds have a down side it is just no one who owns one wants to hear it.

I hope no one takes any of the info in this thread seriously; sounds like everyone's an expert.

Personally I'm an AC guy (for the time being) but facts are facts. There's a million more Doo's out there. And far less reliability issues. I've had day rides where I've seen upwards of 4 Polaris' tugged off the hill. All the new 800s and most completely stock. Just sayin'.... Also have talked to a Poo mechanic that says they really don't know if the motors are fixed or not yet. Not even he had confidence in them.

Easy Teeroy just messin around. I'm not "hatin'" any brand, they all have there pros and cons, I do like the XP, not a huge fan of the handling (both on the trail and in the deep), which is a direct result of not enough seat time, but for realiability, fit and finish, weight and overall performance I believe they are second to none. I ride a 2010 D8 and maybe I'm lucky or just bs'n, but I have had no issues with 700-800 miles on the machine, I do like the ride of the polaris better than the xp but everyone is different when it comes to ergonomics, weight transfer and overall handling of their machine. As far as performance both machines are very equal when it comes to power and clutching. I think the big difference and where the XP has the edge is weight(lack there off) and track width. Now you can relate one of your horror stories, fitting considering the date, I'll sit back eat mini chocolate bars, drink rum and enjoy.

what's with the big rant about being invited to Valcourt then? did Poolaris invite you down to Roseau, ply you with incredibly flat and low alcohol content Pabst Blue Ribbon, give you a handgun, feed you cheeseburgers, followed by a stellar performance by Jovan the hypnotist convincing you Polaris had never had an engine failure?

Basically I woke up this morning in a pissed off mood and needed to vent on someone, since I wasn't at work and didn't want to take it out on my wife and kids, I thought I'd piss off all the ski-doo owners while they drank their morning coffee and surfed the net and give everyone else a bit of a chuckle. Cheers

lol, here's my honest opinion, I just dont want to come off like a "Doo nut swinger". In stock form the Summit Doo's are a tad harder to sidehill and carve in the pow, if you ride like a "timmy" your in for a work-out and a steeper learning curve, where an RMK or whatever Poo is way easier to get up on its side and traverse the hill and do pow doughnuts. On the other hand, if you ride like a "man" and make your sled your bitch, the Summit Doo rewards you by going where you point it and holding its line,they are very stable and predictalble. I have found the RMK Poo's to be to tippy/twichy for my liking,the couple of times I have taken a burn on one I found it to be unstable and unpredictable, but that's my opinion,and me being an intermediate or above average rider,and I have have all 3 model xp summit x's, and I get a free demo each season....
Also the 16 inch track on the Doo will have the 15 inch Poo's looking for the hard pack or their riders digging out while the Doo riders are tearing up the trees and floating in the pow.
Last season's 2010 X's are great sleds,you put gas in on hole and oil in the other, I'd install a skid plate, and set your tra on 3 or 4 and have fun... A skilled rider can tear most mountains a new 8sshole on a totally stock 2010 xp summit all season, just clean your clutch once or twice a season and watch the secondary belt tensioner( the plastic one is shyte), we sold heaps of 2010's and none of our customers had any major issues with their sleds.......( although I heard and have seen bad things happen when you ride with the parking brake lever locked on....
The Doo makes more power,is way more reliable, but takes a bit more effort to tip over.
The Poo, well it's easy to top over,but I see alot getting pulled back down to the parkinglot...( but perhaps thats cause I work at a doo dealer and would like to sell you one....

i love my doo but i can honestly say i dont have that much seat time on other brands but i think ever brand has pros and sons jmo but keep the debate going love to read it!! LOL!!:d

I wasnt much of a fan of the xp when I first got mine,looked good and had good revues so I bought one,first few rides I was really second guessing my purchase but as I got more used to it and did afew adjustments it got better and better,I find it way more comfy for me as I like to stand while riding except groomed trails so I find it close to a dirt bike stance.Power aint a problem and so far its been great,new oil tank under warrenty and one belt at 700 miles,950 now so far so good.As far as Polaris goes my buddys ride them and they go good,one major problem with a dragon was when the crank broke send the clutch flailing around under the hood,and a motor in a rmk.When you buy a sled,any sled new or used all you can doo is hope you get a good one because the all make the odd lemon,just buy which one you get the best deal on and from a dealer that will give you great service and get out and enjoy the powder.
