Hey all S&M folks. I just purchased a Bikeman Performance kit for my 2010 Summit X, minus the clutch kit. I already have a DJ clutch kit installed. I'm hoping to get a little more power out of the ride to last me one more season. Plan is for a new 2015 XM and then this sled will become the "spare”. Anyhow, I am not the most mechanically inclined and was hoping to locate a service manual so that I could do the work myself. I figure its time I get acquainted with sled repair for when I have issues on the hill. It’s just a matter of time.

I found a site that looked promising but was wondering if anyone else has downloaded from it. If so, quality of the manuals? If not, do you have recommendations on where I should get a manual? I went to the local dealer and they would sell me one but it was a paper copy (prefer pdf) and they wanted well over $100. Needless to say that wasn’t going to happen.

Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks everyone, I was in such a hurry to get my project started I downloaded it after the first couple of responses. I appreciate the feedback and offers for a copy. I'm sure I'll have additional questions as I go.

Shoppingcart, you notice a big difference? I read in an older post Maxwell mentioned significant gains.

So I've got the Boyesen reeds in place (what a s*!t job) and the flow rites in the air box, next up the Bikeman head. All this stuff has got me thinking... before I put it back together do I need to change the jetting in the carbs?

I purchased the Bikeman performance kit (head, reeds, flow rites) anyone else have experience with this install and did you have to change the jetting in your sled?

Thanks

You might not need to change jets. I put the RK head on my 09 summit and had to jet down! The bikeman head is probably more efficient and doesn't need to be jetted for the extra hp. If you call the TSS they should be able to answer any questions.

Finally got the Bikeman Performance kit intalled and I think I'm ready for the season. Went with 470 jets, Bikeman recommended 460's or 470's. I guess we will see. With all the precip in the forecast I'm hoping for a "Granny ride" in Quartz on the long weekend to check the jetting out. Nothing hard, pretty certain it'll be to stumpy/rocky. More of a short test ride for the mods.

Final question, the Boyseen reed cages are aluminum and now my carbs are sitting tight agains the bottom of the sled. Anyone else have this issue? Thinking about putting a washer or two on the rear motor mounts to try and get a few mm clearance. Otherwise I'm worried about tourqe flex on the motor damaging the bottom of the carb or cracking the aluminum reed cages. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.

You might have installed something wrong then, the reed cages sit inside the boots and have no bearing on where the carbs sit as their still in the rubber portion of the boot, Mine sit fine, its just a pain to rejet these carbs. I went to a 470 main and I'm still pretty black on the plugs(didn't check the wash yet) might drop to a 460 this year.

Shoppingcart, sorry I ment to say the aluminum boots. They must be longer than the OEM rubber ones by a fraction. Are your carbs touching the bottom of your engine compartment? With the factory rubber boots there was clearence between the bottom of the carbs, now they are touching and fairly tight to the point it was hard to get the carbs back in. Just worried about torque flex when I go WFO damageing the bottom of the carbs or cracking the aluminum boots.

Wondering if I should have used the Boyseen reeds with OEM rubber boots.

The sled seems to be running great.

Polar_RMK, the link isn't working for me anymore either. They must have taken down the site or something. Do you need the 2010 Summit manual? If so I'm in CGY as well and can put it on a thumb drive for you. Its too big to email.
