Well I owned a few ford f350's. Right now I am driving the 2010 f350 great truck and no problems. Now for the 2011's I have one of these as well. All I can say so far is WOW!! Getting great fuel mileage compared to the 2010. Run's great so far and eats the 2010 for lunch. Took it out to the medicine lake rally with the sled trailer and it has great pulling power. It is just to bad that they didn't make the harley edition for 2011. But so far so good and it is one very impressive truck... Just my two cents from a ford owner. :d

Well the way I see it, Ford is betting the farm on this new engine. The 2011 will be one of the best first model year trucks to ever be released. They need to prove this engine, they've made a $400 billion dollar bet on the 2011 line up.

I have no opinion on the 2010 truck other than what I've noticed the ford guys saying about the fuel issue's. I have been a ford guy for my previous 3 pickups, I like my dodge but I'll be paying attention to this new Ford superduty. Or the Raptor...

I assume you'll be purchasing either way?

The 6.4 turned out to be a lot better than many people thought it would be, but IIRC the 6.7 has some advantages, I believe you can do engine work on the new ones without removing the cab, supposedly they get better mileage, and you'd have warranty on it so as long as your dealer is good I'd say just get it.

Personally I like buying 2 years old and having some cash to spend on mods, but if I could buy brand new and not break the bank I'd be right there.

Good luck.

If you want to tow, I'd personally go with the Chevrolet Silverado H-D. Flat out spanks the Ford in every category. Theres a shoot out between the two, I'd look into it.

My family has had nothing but problems with our Fords, and my Chev has been running strong, as well with our '05 Sierra 2500. That thing has balls!

I've been bleeding blue for quite a while now. I own an 04 6.0l diesel right now. I do know for a fact that the 6.4L trucks are far superior to the 6.0l's. They don't get the greatest fuel economy, but have incredible potential for power with just bolt ons and a tuner. BUT if I had the money I would definately go with the 2011 6.7l, this truck has got the other brands buzzing with envy. Everyone that I've talked to can't say enough about this truck....The only negative I've heard was from a guy that didn't like the interior. I, like everyone else is waiting an wondering if this engine and drivetrain has any flaws in it. I can't help but think that ford overbuilt the hell out of this engine. Its no secret how much power potential diesel trucks have with just a tuner and exhaust. I say 2011 if you got the cash..IMO

Are you on glue?!? The Chevs don't even come close to the same payload/towing capacity.

We love our 2011 Ford- hauls like it's not... Period.

Wasnt it the 6.0L with those problems? Used to run a 05 f550 tow truck and that truck spent more times in the shop getting injector work done then on the road

I drove all but the new higher weight class Chevrolet prior purchasing. Ford bar none has the best machine for towing. As for every category, not so much The two Main Towing ones being HP/Torque and payload. 400+ and 24,000 for the Ford. 4:30 gearing option getting 12-14l/ 100 km empty @ 115 km/ hr km and 20-24 l/100km @ 100-120 km/hr towing 8800 lbs. It's really a choice of preference I guess.....

I had a 08 F350 KR and know i have a 09 F350 Lairet. I love my 09 it is the best truck i have ever owned!!! I have a proggramer, straight pipe exhaust and cold air intake on it and it get awesome fuel mileage and don't have to worry about idleing it to long with no DPF filter!!! Has lots lots of power i wouldn't trade this truck for anything!!! My first 08 on the other hand WOW it was a LEMON!! it was in the shop not stop for tranny,turbo,pcm..... you name it. It was a Job 1 so first 08 6.4L made not sure if that had something to do with?? But i will never buy a King Ranch or a Job 1 again....

To each their own really. Personally I think the fords are a little better built (no IFS, no paper thin body panels, etc) but I do own a couple so I may be a bit biased.

I bought a new f350 last summer (2010 Lariat), mainly because I knew how much potential these things had with just a tuner and intake/exhaust. I really considered the 2011s but like previously stated, never buy a job 1 anything...and I was impatient

Check the shot out, The tester was a Ford engineeer. Towing up and down a hill, testing fuel effeciency and engine braking and overall towing. Chev raped the Ford.

Our GMC sierra has been better than any ford we've ever owned.

Just sayin'. If you want ford, go nuts. My buddy is a hard core ford fan.

Well, I had a 09 F350 King Ranch and had about 65000 k on it and loved the truck. I pull a 30 foot enclosed steel trailer and put on a fair amount of miles. Took it in for service and they gave me a 2011 to drive. I now own a 2011 F350. This truck put my 09 to shame. Way more HP and 20 + % better on fuel and only 5000 k on it. Don't be scared of the new motor. It kicks ASS and has warranty.

I purchased a new 2010 F350 6.4 in December 2009. (Has been a real good truck) The price difference was huge. And I wasn't too interested in a new job 1 truck (2011). The longer you wait till the end of the model year the cheaper the unit will be. Or even into the New Year if previous year stock still available. The dealers are bringing in new year stock and want to get rid of new/old stock if you know what I Mean... Good Luck..

yeh qaud boy wtf are you talkin bout willis. nobody came close to the fords for payload when i checked it out. thats why i got one. fords halfer will actually tow/haul more than a dodge 2500 hd. check it out. the halfer actually has about 200kgs more available gvw when ya do the math. not sayin that it will haul it better but it is rated to haul more.

My honest opinion...the dealer is almost as important as the truck these days...

We all have our favorite brand, for many different reasons, but nobody likes their ride when its broke down and in the shop. A good dealer expereince will keep me with both the brand AND the dealer...

We are a mixed family of both Ford and Dodge and have 2 great dealers...USED to be a GM lover until bad experiences with both the trucks and the dealers, so I moved on and havent been given a reason to leave...yet...

Buy what ya like, they all have their good and bad points...
