2009 summit 800 problems

2009 summit some times wont idle, also some times it wont start when you shut it off when riding, when you get it to start it will smoke alot, iv bin told its over oilling and there is oil at the exhaust, if you can shed some light on this for me i just got the sled last month but then some times it will run and start just fine?

how much oil is it using on a tank of fuel? should use a litttle less than half on a full tank

check your oil pump cable down by the pump.

did you ever get you issue corrected? I have a 09 xp 800r and when I shut if off after riding sometimes it will not start. Removed the plugs and no spark. I usually wiggle some wires behind the chaincase and it starts and runs great until i shut if off again. I did read something about some red and black wires behind the chaincase rubbing on a rivet, but that was on an 08.
