2009 M1000 PCV 5 Map

Having a little bit of trouble getting my sled dialed in.
My 2009 M1000 sno pro has a full speed werx exhaust set-up with a PCV 5 controller.
I ride anywhere from 3500' to 8000'
The map I got is the 5000' one from the speedwerx web site. It was lean for me in the 5000-6500 rpm range.
I have been playing with it a little bit richening it up in that range but it still sometimes hits that range and bogs.
Sometimes it won't hit the top rpm.
If anyone has a decent map with similar mods and riding elevation let me know. I would love to compare numbers.

I got the m1000 with SLP pipe and PC5. There were all sorts of problems with this setup that required pyros and a lot of rides with the laptop. Lol. Lots of people say theyre finiky at power valve rpm but my best advise on the RPM issue is to install rock rollers on secondary. They can get so bad I flipped a belt inside out at 100 mph. At the time secondary hangs up for a second it can show as a bog or heat on belt.

Are you sure its not something else? Seems odd that only some times it will bog and only some times it will not tach out. If you are too rich then generally you are too rich, it shouldn't tach out really at all. With the Y pipe and can, my sled was fine, still a little rich with the boondocker box on close to stock settings, had to take some fuel out but never missed a beat. The pipe/Y/can combo doesn't really add that much, I'd unhook the box and throw the stock pipe back on for a ride and see if that works.

check your primary rollers and weights, if the rollers are wore and weights scored it can cause the primary to bind slightly and hold out getting to full rpm

Primary is pretty much new, just rebuilt it before my first ride.

I am assuming you have egts? On my 08-m1000 with SLP pipe set, I had the racinstation map which was supposed to be the cats azz. Ran good at wide open and typical mountain riding. 1150-1200 on egts and pulled good. Mid rpm like you have, had the same problem. Couldn't hold the throttle in one position for any time at all and egts would skyrocket. It was a real pain when riding the trail. Spent more time looking for lights flashing than enjoying the ride up the mountain. Ended up selling sled shortly after so never got the problem solved. If I was you, I would put the stock pipe back in with egts, and see what you get. I wouldn't be surprised if you see the same thing with stock pipe and mapping. I can see if I still have the map files if you are interested.

Check your powervalve cables make sure they are set right and move freely. Boondocker box is way better for tuning, leave it lean in that RPM range they are rich from stock there. Get yourself an air fuel gauge if you don't have already. I had this problem when mine was stock and worked it out with the boondocker with speed werx exhaust.

best thing I did when tuning my 09 m1000 with slp pipe kit was to spend $300 and install a wideband 02 sensor. You could actually see wtf was going on. Best spot to weld it on is just before the can on the elbow into it.

I pmed you what I had. On mine I am running a map from Eric at Racin Station its not perfect but works good enough for my back up sled. He was more than willing to help or send me new maps to down load. It seems no two sleds are the exact same, when I purchased my 14 Proclimb I was told some ECM's reacted different. I installed a Jaws pipe and controller and mine worked good with the pre-programmed map from Arctic edge but other 14's needed tuning as they were way to rich. Good luck on your tuning. They do pull hard when there right.

I had an 08 m1000 with the cut your wrists 09 update. Made it pig rich all over, especially around that 6000.
I’ve got a load of old maps but you’ll see they are lean pulling fuel hard around power valves opening.

You have egt?
What about air fuel?
What’s your fuel pressure?

I also had Linderman porting, Linderman 91 octane head shave, Speedwerx pipe and TUNNEL DUMP can. Honestly that tunnel dumper was the best mod I made on my 1000.
If you don’t have a head shave, better be running on 87.



Clutching was pretty hard to figure out but I finalized with a heavy front spring, MDS weight around 78 I think. Secondary was a team spring conversion. Started out with Cutler everything and I’d really recommend his primary weights.
