good truck,better than a Ford, about same as a Duramax, except trannys and a rougher ride.if your friend has a dealership, see if you can buy some warrenty for it. tranny is weak spot.,I changed 10 last yr in late model dodges.and leave it stock,no chips,or butchering exhaust.and change all oils immediatly to synthetic.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I think I'm going to hold off untill he can get me into a duramax, I just like all the little things gm offers.

Our work truck spends more time in the shop than on the road. The turbo gets gummed up constantly due to the fact we have to manually turn on the exhust brake. They changed that on some units and the new ones do it automatically (not the gospel truth, or it was wiried by the owner to do automatically? Don't remember.). Other than that it rides like a lumber wagon and is as comfortable as a camels back (i know, did two return trips to Yellowknife!). But thats our truck.....maybe yours will be different
