Honda never had brakes until couple years ago always had to drag a foot to stop, no power, 3 wheel drive, no suspension...when the rincon 680 came that was going to change the world  big bore, disc brakes, independant suspension and can select between manual and automatic 1 problem they have a torque converter so with bigger tires in the mud the torque converter spins instead of the tires. Honda makes a great "work" machine but it's like the corolla of the sports car world run forever and takes a bunch of money to look good....but still lacks

Hmmm, you do learn something every day...Thanks for the education, I appreciate learning all I have missed in the past 20 or so years. A LOT has changed...

I have now driven the Yamaha, the Honda, and the Polaris...seems the Honda is a clear winner for the 'work' category that we are planning on using it for. Did and do love the yamaha with the power steering though. Just looked at an 09 550, with 8500kms and it feels like brand new. Still seems like the price is too high at $7500 though...We are looking at 'new' 500 Foremans for less...

Thanks for all the help guys!! Much Appreciated!

the 475cc honda seems to be the best work quad out there, 5speed, swing arm suspension, electric heated carb . id stay away from the honda matics it takes a long time for a 499cc motor to heat up 5L of oil ( more oil in the quad than in some tow vehicles)

honda is actually updating this unit with fuel injection for 2012 , so you make geta good deal on some 2011 if you can wate .

Couldn't wait...blew a CV joint in the polaris today. Drove to Lethbridge and picked up a Foreman as the dealer here had some but couldn't find the time to put one together. Kudos to the Lethbridge Honda dealer. Last minute decision, brought from warehouse, inspected, washed and then stayed late to accomodate us. Gave us the quick version of a walk through helped us load and we were back on the road. Also beat the price here at home...kinda sad when you try and support your local dealer.

If I've learned one thing from living in Brooks ALWAYS look around before you buy.
