2008 rmk 700 rebuild question

ok so this is a continuing of my perc thread.. just need people to look at it again. lol.. so did a compression test again on it tonight. im getting 125 pto and 110 mag. im gonna re ring it next week. think thats all i need to do. looked in the ports and throught the plug and didnt see any wear on the pistons. so i mean a set of rings base and head gasket i should be good to go?? anything else i should maybe look at ?? dont want to spend money for nothing.

need to have cyls honed for new rings.have someone measure bore of cyls and measure pistons for clearance.if cyls are good i would put in new pistons for peace of mind.

you can hone nikasil cyls to clean them up.take top end to a engine shop they will tell you what you need.

well there goes me getting the engine done localy and within a resonable time.. everything here gets sent away for work.

you can take your reed valve out onlt 2 bolts and look inside the eng block for scoring on walls or piston

Well pulled out plugs. Looks I have deposits on the one side and really wet almost like water can't smell gas but not losing coolant gonna pull the head off and take a look inside, and found about honing (deglazing). Seems simple for anyone with mech knoledge to do. What are you thoughts with spx pistons. 200 for a polaris piston seems quite high, or does anyone know of a good place to get them cheaper. Ill order them since either way my dealer don't stock them so I don't mind waiting

so engine needs new cylinder and new piston. ring siezed up on the one side. scored piston and took a chunk out of the coating.. fun fun. so after a little checking thanx to a friend of mine.. found out i do have the extended warrantee so got lucky. lol.. dealer in town here is sure hes got a short block in stock so if he does sled will be ready this week :D

that's good news ,does the dealer know what caused the ring to seize?

no idea.. he hasnt seen the sled yet.. i have my ideas.. got the thing stuck and well got kinda pissed and over reved it high for a long time without the track on the ground.. so that might be part of the reason.. ooops.. but i didnt even ask for the extended warantee.. good thing i have a good dealer when i bought the sled. if not i would have been out like 800 to fix.

get your dealer to open the oil control valve my 800 dragon just blew the top end all above the crank shaft reason is to meet the usa emission std they cut the oil back then your eng heats up wrings seize to piston no compression scored walls and pistons to mine is on warranty also i just got it back the oil is opened up for the break in now he also put some oil in the gas tank i figure i was running about 100 to 1 before and should be about 50 to 1 ask your dealer good sledding yoggibear

Hey Yoggibear did yours run good on the weekend and did you notice more oil was used once it was turned up.:homer:

yes it ran real good but i only made about 40 miles but there was a lot of smoke and that is good but the starter is not working he has to replce the stator bill i m thinking that maybe the 20 th to marie let me know yoggibare

got her back.. running like a top.. asked about the oil thing and they didnt want to touch it without knowing what my ratio was at. so im currently keeping an eye on it and keeping track of what i use. but im gonna keep mixing the gas and oil till i know for sure that its actually using the right amount of oil

i have mine back only made 50 mi i m going this weekend but run exc keep track of the oil and gas burned for the ratio and good sledding ty marcel
